I'm going to play devils advocate for Greta. I do not know if you have children, but have you ever tried to get a 15/16 year old to do something they don't want to do. So I would suggest your assumption is incorrect.
Rather than me write lots of words, read the section under the title 'life' - then feel free to read other sections such as 'inspiration' after that;

She saw her illness as a 'superpower' a lot of disabilities give people strength and determination in life.
Clearly she has been given a platform but I’d totally agree for something she wishes to do, all this seems to be distraction tactic to ignore the points being made and as I mentioned earlier scientists have been ignored for years. Sooooo let’s hope with the international platform she’s been given some responses will be met to the actual issues.
Fossil records demonstrate that there was life on earth long before us mate.

I have nothing against Greta, she is a very strong and brave young lady. What I do question is why she was worrying about CC at the age of eight, who pushed this to her and why.
Like I said earlier, do you think you would get an audience with the UN if you felt strongly about something?
I just feel she is being used in a very cynical way by somebody and indeed having her childhood stolen.
I have three kids all in there 30s now so yes, I have tried to get them to do things they didn't want to at 15/16, I never tried terrifying them about the consequences first though.

By this I assume you mean the IPCC, the body set up and funded by the UN ?
She is an emotional tool being broadcast around the world to make people more compliant with the changes that are coming.
As I said in the OP, why are people getting so hung up on her as an individual ?
To me it seems like a reaction of collective guilt that a child is telling this generation that they have failed to deal with climate change.
Depends how you see it.
Per capita usa is the worse. Overall they are the highest.
They are also building more coal plants but at the same time im pretty sure china has the biggest spends on renewable energy.

I think you are overlooking the ability of the human mind in this equasion and what makes people demonstrate traits beyond the average. A bit like how a pianist will become a genius at the age of 7...I give you Mozart. In fact you will find most child prodigies in music develop between the ages of 5-7 years old. Don't dismiss her just because she is young.
You might be write mate. The last I saw was that China alone was responsible for some 25% of all the world’s Co2 emissions.
Ok if the message is right, if changes need to be made.... what exactly does anything else bare any importance? Again let’s stick to what points she is raising

Probably. They also have an 1.4 billion people too its natural they would be massive.
Just did a quick google. Surprised by how low the india numbers per capita is. Also chinas citys are notoriously polluted but chinas a little bit behind uk (not sure how pollution numbers are calculated but im assuming if you do carbon projects in other countries your emission numbers get removed - i have knowledge of the carbon trading market).

Well unless there is a massive and rapid change in energy production there could possibly be limitations on it's use for a start.
Then we come to international travel, we are not close yet to electric planes or cargo ships as far as I know so these could be limited to "necessary" only use.
Gas use is being phased out in new build homes so when a substation goes down somewhere in winter people will be without any means of heating, washing or cooking (nice one).
Certain animals (sheep, cows, pigs) will become extinct or maybe zoo only (at least future kids will still get to see them).
I am pretty sure you can think of many more not quite so dramatic if you tried but would prefer not to, I have gone extreme (but possible) because we are talking extremes with climate change.
