I admit Adel did actually start to look like a Premier league player under Hughes, Adel was quite often the only player trying on the pitch, but I think that is more of an indictment of how bad the team was rather than how much Adel had improved. I'm sure if Joey is made captain he would indeed try to motivate Adel more than moan, at first. The real trouble is Adel and his past problems with Harry, I think they might kiss and make up, but it would only take one negative comment from Rednapp and Adel would be his usual I'm better than you self, then Barton would blow a gasket and I don't think it would be pretty and could totally destroy the "band of brother" ethos that has been built at the club. What is more important, maintaining this unity we've been so badly missing over the last few years, or trying to give Adel ANOTHER chance to prove himself? If we had a crystal ball and could see the end result and that was Adel becoming better than Messi while playing for us, then great, give him that chance, but unfortunately we live in the real world and have to go by the averages, which would point to it all going horribly wrong if we do keep Adel. I hope I'm wrong though.
