I loved watching Rod Wallace late eighties / early 90's tearing up defences with a young Le Tissier. The Draper Tools kit was a classic. Such fond memories of the dell in those days!
State your era: 01-05? Player: Anders Svensson Why: Great player, probably my favourite Saint apart from the obvious State your era: 98-02 Player: Denilson Why: Awesome player in his day
For Saints its Matt, so many unbelievable years, even the memories don't get old. Outside of Saints. Histo Stoickov - he was like a foreign Matt!
Yeah, I will second that - Stoichkov and Hagi were my favourites on sensible world of soccer! For overall technical ability and skill and being an all round good guy - I will chuck in Bergkamp too.
Brilliant. I was living abroad when KK was in his pomp for us. Managed quite a few games but not this one. Never seen this before .. my god what a team!
Nostalgia-wise, I suppose my favourite era would have to be the late '60's, when I started to go to matches with mates from school rather than with my Dad. My favourite Saints player from that era is undoubtedly Ron Davies, who was just peerless. Favourite non-Saints player has to be George Best, possibly the best player in the world at that time, and who led just the sort of lifestyle to be envied by a teenage boy! My problem at the moment is that my memories of Ron Davies are being blurred with images of Rickie Lambert, who, great as Ron Davies was, is probably a better all-round player.
