Ray Winstone can be very good but he plays the same character too often. IMO his best film is still Scum.

Brilliant for : 1. Ray Winstone NOT playing Ray Winstone 2. Ben Kingsley giving one of those WTF performances so out of kin with his acting CV.
Someone has to be the Ray Winstone, everyone knows a Ray Winstone....who better to play him than Ray?
Already been mentioned but deserves a big up .... ZULU ... interplay between Michael Caine (in his very first film) and Stanley Baker was superb ... and some of the supporting cast were brilliant ... special mention to James Booth as 'Hookie' and Nigel Green as the Colour Sergeant ... plus the 5000 Zulus
