Is the Stoke match now on the same day? One o'clock kick off.

Travel could be a pain and there could be some awkward decisions for fans, athletes, police etc.

If i've got the wrong date sos.

Hey..When I saw the title of this thread I thought you were running the buggar and after sponsorship: I would have as well..<ok>

Ditto mate..<laugh>..However, when I finish my degree studies in October I do intend to concentrate on getting myself back in shape and will lose two stone by the time I get awarded my degree in January..<party>

I wouldn't go that far mate..Dry wine and soda perhaps..
PS...I know that Jorvik Joe and his son Teesidemackem are up for a few bevvies before the Chelsea game if you're interested...I normally take my lads to the Railway club before Saturday games, as they have very reasonable beer, and pop for the kids, prices, and it would be ideal for me if any interested parties could meet up there..
However, me and Joe go back a long way from our 606 days, and if he has arranged to go somewhere else in town I will do my best to get there..
Anyway, if any posters fancy a chin wag with a few fellow not606's before the Chelsea game, whether thet be BIBS, BOBS or BOFS; look out for details on here as I'm sure Joe and Teeside will be in touch..<ok>

Sorry if this has been posted already. I have seen discussion on SMB but not much about it here. I have done a bit of a search but couldn't find similar posts.

I noticed the club 'clarification' about the scheduling change for the Stoke game was posted on the SAFC website yesterday, when everyone had more important things to think about (burying bad news?). http://www.safc.com/news/20110831/safc-clarify-stoke-rescheduling_2256213_2437558

This indicates to me that someone has made a serious mistake but they don't want to admit it. The club claims to have discussed this new time and date with the safety advisory group, which includes supporter representation. Anyone know any supporters involved with this?

The biggest joke is the comment: "We hope that the earlier kick-off time assists fans preparing for the working week ahead and young supporters who are at school the following day, as well as supporters travelling longer distances on Sunday afternoon and early evening."

Patronising or what? I suppose that means if Sunderland get picked for a 4pm ko by Sky that the club will have to refuse as we will all be unable to get up for work or school the next day!

The club or Premier League, or whoever is really to blame, needs to look at this again. Certainly it will be the lowest crowd of the year as people will just not be able to get there. Apart from not wanting to face the traffic mayhem, loads of supporters will be either doing the run, or supporting friends who are, and there will be just no way they can then get to the SoL for a 1pm ko!!

On Look North tonight the guy who is chief organiser of the GNR was furious. He said they were not consulted and they are not happy at the prospect of thousands of extra people travelling on the roads and metro etc on one of the most important days of the year. The GNR is a showcase for the entire region and no Premier league game should be scheduled at the same time.

Some people will use the flimsiest of excuses, what were they the reincarnation of oscar wilde???

Around tough choices/not making the match, 4 of my mates will not be there because they are running, and they have a lot in sponsorship riding on it!! The "Club Clarification" is the biggest lot of tosh I've read since the last round of General Election manifesto's - absolutely stark raving mad.
