Not sure if tale of the whale still there tbh but I remember queuing up at the outside counter years ago, (probably not long after the hut went) for fish n chips for me, mrs and kids.
They served up frozen fries and those cheap triangle frozen fish and more expensive than proper fish n chips.
I politely declined paying extortionate prices for cheap food and walked off to ocean road :D

Decripitude prevents me from running any more GNR, but do not get the new route at all!

Think I've only been out on a bike twice over the last couple of years.
    Can't get motivated ffs .

I only once had fish n chips from the Whale. Queued for ages outside and was serves a huge cod in crispy batter. That was not long after it opened. Went back a couple years later, not many waiting and fish was mushy with a soggy batter. Can’t stand soggy batter! I think all chippies are the same; at the mercy of the fish fryer.

Yeah I could, but I enjoyed running...I have a bike stuck on a machine, so I cycle a bit indoors. I try to do more swimming, as it supposedly causes less damage.

Although a good few years back now I was doing say over 1km a few times a week. I must have had a poor front crawl style as my rotator cuff got damaged. All sport seems to come with injury problems.

I was watching a couple of young scratch golfers a few weeks ago, they were hitting the ball 300yds but what they were doing to their back/spine in the future I dread to think.
