This is why I won't post my all time fave clip from the film Whipping Vixens part two "Out on the lash", also 99.5% of all my other fave great movie scenes...
Saw the stage adaptation last year, who'd have thought they could have replicated this scene? But they did - love it
I've been trying without success to find the opening scenes from A Matter Of Life And Death to post on here. This review will have to suffice unfortunately......... https://www.theguardian.com/film/20...rdness-a-matter-of-life-and-death-70-years-on
One of those films you have to watch at least once before you die, David Niven is superb...Here is the clip you have been looking for, Stroller.... http://pmd.cdn.turner.com/tcm/big/t...feanddeath_gforgeorge_FC_133a_640x360_800.mp4
This must be one of the most awe--inspiring opening scenes to any film...Pity the rest of it never quite lived up to it.
From The Usual Suspects....Who Is Kaiser Soze? And the final scene where the whole story unfolds is amazing....but, on the very minute chance, you have not seen the film....DO NOT WATCH THIS.....!!!!
Some superb choices already on here, but I'm picking some personal favourites. Being a useless twat I don't know how to put up the clips, so I hope a more adept poster can find some of them and put them up. Agree with 9's that De Niro is a great actor, but I think the accolade of the greatest ever must be between Cagney(my personal favourite) or Brando ! Angels With Dirty Faces- Going to the electric chair Cool Hand Luke- The egg eating scene Scott Of The Antarctic- When they see the Norwegian flag Paths Of Glory- The execution scene The original The Producers- Springtime for Hitler Once upon a Time in The West-The Harmonica scene Zulu-Final battle scene Psycho- The shower scene Bridge On the River Kwai-Blowing up the bridge On the Waterfront- I could've been a contender Gallipoli- Final scene Platoon-The death of Elias The Deerhunter-Russian roulette scene in Nam Fantasia (just for you Beth)- The Sorcerer's Apprentice and finally The Four Year Plan- The Promotion Scene !!
'The Lives Of Others' has to be one of my favourite all-time films despite being in German with subtitles. Gripping, moving, thought provoking, poignant and with excellent performances from the main protagonists.
