his manifesto is for sure "i am not david cameron"

i think thw fears you are all showing is why more might just vote or fear of tories getting back in honestly. We will see

sometimes when its not so easy have anything real as an alternative to a crap situation you can appeal to being more fair.. i'd rather that than be told total BS as pormises nobody can deliver.

sure but a month isn't long enough to make real policy. they need longer to get a good message out and real alternative plans.

IMO of course.. at least 6 months

Hey, you hit the nail right on the head!

    https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...BQUov_uZSA7Etyl4Q&sig2=6RHbJ60PFTlzRTcS8gNZDQ
"In April 2014, it became known that the current Prime Minister had written to the Leader of the Opposition to inform him that pre-election contacts between the opposition and the Civil Service would be authorised from October 2014, 6 months prior to the May 2015 general election"

So no real excuse for either side not to come up with something more concrete (no pun intended) than some wishy washy bullshit on the side of a rock. At least we know the Tories are going to cut the deficit by £30bn and the welfare bill by £12bn. All we have from Labour is some BS about "we'll balance the books if a load of stuff is excluded because we classify it as 'investment'". Also "we'll promise the same as every other party but we'll carve it into a big stone".

Labour may still win, but if they lose then it is because they have failed to offer anything credible to actually show people what would be any different under them.

Tuesday 5 May 2015 17.27 BST Last modified on Tuesday 5 May 2015 17.29 BSTPlaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood is being interviewed on Radio 4’s PM now. I’ll have a listen and flag up the key moments.

My colleague Marina Hyde has been on the campaign trail with Boris Johnson and David Cameron.
    She writes:
An audience of captive workers was laughing, and David Cameron was laughing with a slightly clenched jaw. Whether the PM and Johnson ever really liked each other, even in the Bullingdondays, has always seemed doubtful. Either way, they now embody the least convincing relationship of mutual reverence since that between Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.
With just 48 hours to go before the UK decides, politicians are making their final push on the campaign trail, from Land’s End to West Lothian. Here are the election photo highlights of the day:

They should have given more focus and shouted louder about their prime aims in terms of social justice.

For example, zero hours contracts - they've said they're going to outlaw them, but they should have developed the point, showed exactly why retailers in particularly have been exploiting this option for the last few years, bringing uncertainty and lack of security to hundreds of thousands, and ultimately getting the tax payer via tax credits etc, to foot the bill for the under resourcing of businesses like Sports Direct.

It's policies that set out to make our society fairer for all, that should always be the linchpin of a Labour Govt and it's what will always differentiate them from the Tories. They've not done enough in that area, and it's crying shame.

You're right about tax credits causing low wages, but as for banning zero hours contracts that is just stupid. Yes they are exploited by some but they are crucial to others, both employees and employers.

I wonder if I can vote in absentia? I never have (and would be too late to register now). If I could , I assume it would be based on my last UK address...

... I need to look up who the worst candidate in that area is...

Election 2015: Leaders in last-ditch bid for votes

please log in to view this image

Party leaders and candidates are making a last-ditch grab for votes on the final day of campaigning before the general election polls open.

Prime Minister David Cameron will promise to keep Britain "on the road to a brighter future", while Labour's Ed Miliband will pledge "a government that will put working people first".

Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg will offer "stability and decency".

Polls suggest no party will win enough seats for an outright majority.

BBC deputy political editor James Landale said politicians, pollsters and the media were struggling to read the election, leading many to focus on what might happen if there is an uncertain result.

"As such, Thursday might not be the end of the process," he said. "It might just be the calling of the half-time whistle."

    • A UK Independence Party (UKIP) candidate was suspended after being filmed apparently threatening to shoot a Conservative rival
    • Labour leader Ed Miliband said he did not believe his party would borrow more than under Conservative plans if it won the election
    • The Times newspaper endorsed a continuation of the Conservative-Lib Dem coalition whileThe Express has become the first paper to recommend voting for UKIP. The Daily Mail is backing the Conservatives.
    • Northern Ireland's five biggest parties clashed over welfare reform and gay marriage in a live TV debate
The leaders have been criss-crossing the country in their battle buses as they attempt to drum up support ahead of Thursday's poll.

Mr Cameron is heading to north west England, Scotland and the Midlands, while Mr Miliband is visiting Conservative-held marginal seats in the north of England.

Mr Clegg, who set off from Land's End on Tuesday, is heading to John O'Groats through Scottish constituencies his party is hoping to retain.

    'Suicide note'

A vote for UKIP is like writing a "suicide note" for eurosceptics' hopes of a referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union, Iain Duncan Smith has said.
The former Tory leader said backing UKIP would allow Labour to take power and deny the people a vote on the UK's relationship with Brussels
"I would simply appeal to them [voters] and say, honestly this is a risk that is no longer a protest, but it's like a suicide note," he told the Daily Telegraph .

Zero hours contracts only suited a tiny percentage of the population and their employers, mainly students and some retired folk looking for a few extra quid. However, once employers saw the opportunity these contracts gave them to reduce their employment costs and these contracts became the norm, then there's no option at this point other than to remove the opportunity. The small number of people it'll end up affecting negatively will be massively out weighed by the converse.

Blame greedy employers making accountant lead strategy decisions and taking no account of their staffs welfare and how these contracts affect their everyday lives on every level not only fiscal.
