Afternoon Clive, erm aren't you been a little selective about Mr Blackwell's tenure at Leeds United? Can you kindly inform me where Leeds United were when he was sacked?

No rush, just come back to me when you have the time.

    Pleasure chatting, speak soon.

Our relegation under Blackwell was a farce, something went on behind the scenes and we went down. A team doesnt go from play off final, to 24th and administrated the following season. But the two factors that aroused my suspicion, why on earth did we sign league 2's top goals scorer, and the blue square south's top scorer???? right as were heading for the play offs / automatic promotion???? Why dint we sign championship or prem fringe players? no we happened to sign lower league players, and then all of a sudden, hey were a lower football league team, somethings fishy and its not boggers lack of IQ either ;) Im giving Grayson one last chance, he's let us down a lot of times already, bad form, transfer lies and awful signings + tactics, but its in the past so i'll give him another shot, but im not convinced anything will change

QSS - I'm sure Mr G will be delighted he's got your support for the start of the season.

Now that issue's resolved he can start dealing in the transfer market. No doubt he'll consult you before making any purchases!!

So Quinntan, you can't name any strengths, you can only claim that he must be good because he achieved the miracle of a 7th place finish with a squad consisting of one player that's joined a Premier League team, three more that are linked with multi-million pound moves to the Premier League, one that got in the England Under 21 squad, a goalkeeper that has made a million pound move to one of the promotion favourites and a host of others who are internationals and have proved themselves at Championship level.

Itsalongwayback, I'm not Blackwell's biggest fan but he was clearly better than Grayson.

And, yes, I am being selective of Blackwell's tenure.

I'm selecting the full season he was in charge where we finished 5th and got to the play-off final, rather than the one where he was sacked in September.

Blackwell had loads more to spend than Grayson. I intelligently predict about £6m more than Grayson's had. You can see why he managed to do well for one season. And Grayson still plays better football than he did and managed a 7th place finish in our first season back with room to improve this season. Pointless argument though really.

Blackwell needed to spend more and most of it was spent wisely.

You've plucked a figure of £6m out of thin air, but, even if that were true, Snodgrass alone is worth £6m.

Bates and Grayson insist there is money to spend but Grayson hasn't chosen to spend it. The fact that Bates was also Blackwell's chairman, and he spent a few million, could back this up.

Our quality players, who were already at the club before Grayson arrived, play good football. Grayson tries to stop them. He even admitted telling the players to stop attacking against Preston and look how that turned out.

I'm not Grayson's biggest fan but next to Blackwell the guy's a genius.

Well it was Donald who brought up the money he had to spend, as an attempt to defend Grayson, but Blackwell had to virtually sign a whole new team, our best players were already at the club before Grayson arrived.

Robbie Blake, Rob Hulse, Richard Cresswell, David Healy, Eddie Lewis, Neil Sullivan, Shaun Derry and Sean Gregan were all quality signings, although I'm struggling to see how they cost £6m. There were also good squad players signed like Danny Pugh and Ian Bennett, and quality loans like Liam Miller.

And if anyone wants to come back and say that most of his signings were rubbish, then he still managed to finish 5th and get to the play-off final with rubbish players.

Whatever way you look at it he's better than Grayson.

This is in response to Donald's comments about Man City in the 'Charging For Youth Team Trials' thread:

So they'd be better served joining a club whose manager hasn't given a single youth team player their debut in his entire two and a half years at the helm?

For some reason it wouldn't let me post it in there, but Donald would probably have just moved it in here anyway.

I thought Grayson gave White a debut from the youth team into the first team? Clivetime are you the Clive that was on bbc606 ? If so I remember that clive was found out to be a Man whoo fan! With this Anti-Grayson and Anti- everything to do with Leeds Utd, it does seem as though you maybe the same person?

Gary McAllister gave White his debut and Grayson has pretty much ignored him since.

I am the Clivetime who was on BBC 606 and the Clivetime who was banned from ja606 for no reason.

You don't remember anything about me being found out to be a Man Utd fan because that never happened, and is far from the truth.

I am anti-Grayson and very much pro-Leeds United. There is nothing in any of my posts to suggest that I'm anti-Leeds or a supporter of any other club.

I am anti-Grayson because he's a poor manager who is holding us back. If you're pro-Grayson and go to the lengths of making up lies to discredit me and try to make him look good, then you must be anti-Leeds.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Quick question for you clivetime then, Without any change at Leed United at this moment in time give me one positive response.
Also you say that if anyone is pro Grayson then they are Anti-Leeds, shows that you do not view anybodys opinions but your own!
What is your obsession with Grayson?
Like your spin on, If you like leeds more than grayson poll. Very funny, not very clever tho.
