no argument because I'm right. Go away to another forum and alienate all of the members on there.

    My argument is up there.

It doesn't get any weaker because you've said ridiculous things.

It gets weaker because I explained why you are so narrow minded and short sighted when it comes to these things. Not a single person on this forum respects a single word you type.

The worry is that Grayson has said he thinks Paynter is as good as Becchio so he may think he can afford to cash in. :(

If we hadn't have lost the 15 points we wouldn't have had Grayson.

I keep pointing out that with the 15 points we'd have had 91 and Grayson couldn't finish with more than 86, so he hasn't taken us forward, but people won't have it.

BUT we did lose 15 points!

We did get Simon Grayson......................... and I don't know if I'm been stupid here but been in the Championship and not League 1 is a forward step.

You are being stupid, or at least taking a very simplistic view, Itsalongwayback.

The fact that we lost 15 points had nothing to do with the managers. Dennis Wise oversaw a stong start, and Gary McAllister a strong finish, to achieve a total of 91 points. That was enough to finish 2nd by a clear margin and only a point less than the champions.

The best total Grayson was able to achieve was 86 points, only a point clear of 3rd place and 14 points behind the champions.

Grayson also had a better squad.

How can anyone say that finishing with 5 points less with a better squad is a forward step?

If we hadn't have had the 15 point deduction we wouldn't have performed nearly as well over the course of the season, so your point is moot. It's incredible what putting a challenge in front of people can do for their motivation.

    You're out of control, Donald.

That first post was in direct response to the Becchio thread and I only went on to talk about the 15 points because they were brought up in that thread.

My comments are in response to comments on that thread, so by posting them in here you're ruining two threads.

If anyone is critical of Grayson in relation to certain issues are you just going to chuck them in here as if they're garbage?

Huey Lewis and the News references can't mask poor moderating.

And Mark, no one has any idea of the motivational effect of the points deduction. Southampton couldn't make the play-offs with -10. You're almost suggesting that a 15 point deduction was an advantage, which is ridiculous.

I take some of that back because you've transferred most of the discussion, and it's brought the thread to the attention of someone who voted Grayson out, but that Becchio comment belongs in the Becchio thread.

I'm of the opinion that if he had someone making the signings for him, Grayson'd be set.

Football is a results based business and whatever way you look at it, Simon's done a good job in that sense. Promotion from League 1, finishing 7th in our first season back in the Championship, which by all accounts is a tough league. Let the guy be, he's progressing us back towards where we belong and more importantly he's a fan, he love the club. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Quinntan, you've pointed out one of his major shortcomings, what are his strengths that mean he'd be 'set'?

Cheese, you're talking nonsense, but what would you expect from curdled milk?

He's had some of the worst individual results and worst periods of results in our history.

Why is it more important that he's a fan? And he loves himself far more than the club.

You couldn't ask for anything more? How about promotion?

I get called all the names under the sun and get accused of not being a fan, then you come out and say you couldn't ask for more than 7th place in the 2nd tier.

That's because it's hard to adjust to a league as tough as the Championship after coming up from league one. The majority of clubs struggle to adjust after coming down from the PL. He hasn't had the worst period of results in our history, as he's consistently had a 60% success rate. Only Revie has topped Grayson at results. You cannot possibly argue that he doesn't deliver results, the evidence is right in front of your stupid gormless face

Clive, theres a big difference between the quality of our players now and even 10 years ago and as much as i hate to say it, its going to be a very very tough time getting back to where we were and the timing of our downfall couldn't have been worse with the amount of money being pumped into football. We are not the team we used to be and its very hard to get players that are the quality for the results that would seem to satisfy you which im assuming winning every game by at least 3 goals would satisfy you which even then you'd probably complain about something.
