Virgin do , for the most part , have the far better network though , if they sorted out the stuff at each end , they would be streaks ahead . Do you remember many years ago when all that green duct was put in the ground ? They own that now , so the vast majority of homes ( not very remote places though ) have a duct route right to the front door , unlike BT who have lots and lots of buried cable .
yes, when I lived in a block of flats they dug up outside and laid something to the building but everybody who wanted TV and internet had it so there wasn't any take up at all.
