I'm relatively new on here so not sure if I'd interacted with Grandpops but sorry to hear of his departure.

I was just thinking about him yesterday.. My mother in law is in the Houghton rehab centre where I went to visit him.. He was a smashing bloke who I loved to listen too.

This is really **** and sad news. Such a class, dry and subtle sense of humour. He was young at 72, relatively, same age as my old man when he swanned off.

Sorry guys, only just seen this. Gutted, grandpops was always the perfect gent, will miss him, top bloke when ever I spoke to him. Sad to see you go pops RIP

Gutted to hear the news mate, he will be certainly strumming a few chords up there. One of the best ever to be a part of the Sunderland board, naturally funny but a man with a good heart. I'll miss him for sure and my condolences to you all, may pops rest in peace, he will be missed..

Post mortem is on Friday as it is classed as a sudden death, I’ll let you know the funeral arrangements once I can get it all sorted mate
