Mercedes far more at home in cooler temps and medium speed. Red bull all about high speed. It will ebb and flow all season. As for Ricciardo- sure it’s a disappointing lap today but McLaren are in some position with Norris driving the wheels off the car and knowing they’ve got a multi race winner up their sleeve once it all clicks together for him. Ferrari very neat and tidy but underpowered.
I really hope George can have a good race and keep it clean. He was saying they have one of, if not the fastest straight line speeds of anyone! It would be great to see them get some points. Anyone see what happened to Alonso? Ocon did well and I would have expected Alonso to have started to gain pace as he can normally extract extra performance out of anything. Interesting that Vettel managed to get better quali position and he has the old bits on his car. I really would like to see him get his mojo back especially against Lance
The first two races, they've had the advantage. Not so sure about this race though. Sunday will tell for sure based on tyre strats. RBR and Merc may go separate ways based on qualifying. Like Top said, it's likely to ebb and flow a bit throughout the season... But as it stands, RBR looking to be slightly off it here. A solid 2nd or 3rd for Max and he's in a good spot. If Merc don't capitalize here... He's in an even better one. Feels like both Verstappen and Hamilton need to makes the very most of each opportunity. Something Max failed to do in race one, and Hamilton was extremely fortunate in race 2 to stay in striking distance. This really could be back and forth between them all season. No clue how it might play out and I love that!
Mercedes won't want Bottas to finish above Hamilton so probably have another slow Pitstop like he normally has when ever he's ahead of him
