Don't think it died. However, it's a ****in joke of a race. Racing in general is a bad joke. It's only there for the bookies to make money.
On the other hand, those horses would have never existed if it weren't for racing. Something to think about. Racing horses have very good lives and are well looked after. Much like the animals whose meat we eat every day. And whose leather we wear on our feet every day.
Aye. It must of recovered Champion. Feared the worst. When that black screen was up. And they missed the fence out
I still can't think of any "sport" (aside from dog racing) that exists purely for the betting industry. People wouldn't watch horse racing just to see their favourite horse win. Yeah, they are well looked after until they break a leg then they are shot. I was at Sedgefield races years ago, it was a hurdles race, a horse snapped its front leg and the jockey made it jump another 2 hurdles before he pulled it up. 20 mins later there was a gunshot out the back of the main stand. I once visited a very well known stable back in the 80's with a view to buying a share in a horse. The stable owner openly pumping the horses full of performance enhancing drugs.
I was still sulking after winning £80 with my 'free' bet last year and then being told I couldn't withdraw it cos the small print said I had to bet a total of £200 first. Didn't give the ****s a penny this year. **** em.
