Definitely getting the game set and match vibes from Verstappen now. Can't see this going any other way now.
At one point I thought that he knew about Andretti trying to buy Sauber but then that fell through and he seemed to suggest he didn't know about Andretti's offer. While he will still be in F1, I was surprised at him not going back to Williams. Going to a Ferrari team seemed a bit weird.
maybe he has Lewis’s insight about the new regulations and how Alfa R will be a world beater next season
I am really not sad to see Merc getting chewed up. Merc strategists have been poor, to much complacency in the team. Disappointed for Lewis gaining the 8th but if he still has it he has 2 more seasons to try for the 8th. I know mathmatically he can still win the championship this year but I honestly don't see it unless Max has a DNF. Max is on form and wants it more than Lewis does. Lewis said he wasn't concerned about Perez beng on his heels, felt he could manage that. Means he also knew there was no point in trying to chase Max down so guess he might have decided to manage his engine. After the years of Merc dominance no one should be complaining about the RBR resurgence even if the management are the baddies at the circuit. I also think Honda threw more at it after the vocal criticism of McLaren and in particular Alonso.
not true, as Hamilton only lapped the Mclaren because of blue flags, he even went on the radio to tell the pit crew he couldn't get past.
'Valtteri left the door open for Max' Mercedes are normally pretty careful about not throwing each other under the bus, but the measure of their frustration with Bottas for not being further left so Verstappen had no space was clear from the fact that both Hamilton and team boss Toto Wolff remarked upon it afterwards. "I was covering my side of the track trying to make sure no one could come up the inside," Hamilton said. "I was looking in my mirrors trying to keep whatever Red Bull behind and I thought Valtteri would be doing the same. But he left the door open for Max." "The cars are very difficult to judge from the mirrors what is actually happening behind you," Wolff said. "But I think if they would have been more to the left he wouldn't have passed, he would have been blocked." At the same time, when he was alongside, Verstappen still had a lot to do to get ahead, and he did, as Hamilton described it, "a mega job braking into Turn One".
I agree . Take Horner and Mark out of the equation , and the team inc Honda deserve these titles , Newey and all .
Not sure if that's throwing him under the bus as much as just stating a fact. He certainly could have handled that start better. But, it's really mostly irrelevant, because even had Max been third after the start, he and RBR would have found a way to the front, so realistically, it meant a grand total of nothing
I just want Hamilton to get title #8, then I'd be okay if I never saw him win another race. Eight isn't happening this season tho.
I just quoted what I think DH meant . I have not yet seen the race . So ya boo sucks to you Though it does appear highly critical to me .
