This is the man who had the dual contract scoop in his lap and he was too stupid to know it. An utter bell end. Now he thinks it would be reasonable for Rangers to be punished for something nobody has accused them of, but unreasonable to punish them for something it looks very much like they have done. Absolute dick.
Why do rangers fans have a hard time accepting they done wrong and should be punished for it? There doesn't even need to be an investigation into dual contracts, they have already admitted it. Alright its partially the spl's fault for not doing there job properly but titles have to be stripped for cheating. Yet the other 10 spl clubs are happy to accept a newco, they should be the ones demanding this more than anything as rangers have robbed them of money and made a mockery of the rules that everyone else had to play by.
It is very easy for us as supporters to say **** them, but every other club apart from us has a tough choice to make.
I understand the predicament the clubs are in and thats why I suggest only relegating them for going down the newco route. But, this is starting to take the piss out of the league and will turn us into a laughing stock. How can they justify letting any club do what they want just for the sake of finances is beyond me. In the long run the current financial model for scottish football is ****ed anyway, supporters numbers are dropping, ticket prices increasing and sky will up and leave one day. This is nothing more than thinking of the short term gain with no long term plan in place. It isn't just Celtic fans that are annoyed by all this and these smaller clubs really can't afford to lose anymore supporters.
It is too late for looking like a laughing stock. Even considering this ****s any salvageable reputation Scottish football may have left. Uefa might as well **** all Scottish teams out of europe right now to be honest. How can Uefa allow Scottish teams into european competitions if the league structures can be compromised to such an extent?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1142657-scottish-premier-league-is-doping-acceptable-in-scottish-soccer from an american site, pretty much says it all.
It does doesn't it. I have tried to talk about this in the simplest terms throughout the saga but often get sucked in to the complexities. This lays it out bare in very simple terms.
Brilliant article, it's pretty damning as well. That's what every other footballing nation in the world will be thinking of us: Corrupt Backwater
Anyone seen The Flying Pigs rant in The Sun today? We'll all try to never forget Rangers when they're gone
Read the Goram article myself , unbelievable . Everybody involved at Rangers admit they deserve to be punished , yet when a very weak punishment is put in front of them , they call foul!!! Maybe for a laugh we should allow Rangers to name their own punishment . Has anybody seen the video Clip of the Thai tims celebrating Hoopers goal last week , then they all do the backward huddle , wish someone could post it on here .
here you go harry
the administrators are claiming this has came out of the blue. bollox. they have known all along this was on the cards. also two of the three have said it will not affect their bid.
I see Mark Hateley is the latest to bleat about Rangers. Rangers can't do walking away from the SPL By Mark Hateley on Apr 13 IF RANGERS were an ordinary outfit they would stick two fingers up to the SPL and head for the foot of the Third Division. However, this has always been more than a club. (And let the clichés begin) There must be a strong temptation among the bidders vying for the club to conclude a deal and manufacture a siege mentality. (Manufacture a siege mentality? There is no need to make what is already there) They would be wrong to do so but who could blame them? After all, with liquidation on the cards the SPL and SFA have done little to support one of its biggest members. (How exactly are they supposed to “Support” Rangers? By NOT punishing them?) The SPL's latest raft of hastily penned legislation means if the Ibrox club start next season as a newco they face two years with a 10-point deduction. (Not hastily penned at all Mark, these ideas were mooted over a year ago) Also a loss of revenue for three seasons that could amount to almost £6million for the club. (That’s less than 5% of their “potential” debt at this time so £6m is chicken feed) The timing of the announcement has delayed the plans of administrator Duff and Phelps to select a preferred bidder. (No stupid, that would be a decision made by the potential bidders, not by D&P) And as a result, Ally McCoist's planning for the new season has been disrupted further as at least another month is added to the timescale for him to select a squad for the challenges ahead. (Again, that’s not the fault of the SPL, that is solely down to financial mismanagement at Rangers) The proposed new rules are too severe, although Rangers should not escape Scot-free. A 10-point penalty for two years I can just about accept. (Well that’s awfully ****ing big of you Mark) But more crippling points deductions and the withdrawal of 75 per cent of SPL funding smacks me as just too punitive. (Just too punitive? Maybe you should look up the definition of punitive you stupid thick ****) Rangers have rightly been deducted points for entering into administration and will be penalised again if they are forced to liquidate all together. (Yes and?) But who at the SFA failed to conduct due diligence on the change of ownership of one of their oldest members? (It’s not the SFA who are responsible for that, David Murray should have carried out due diligence, after all, was he not the man who said he would only sell to someone who had the best interests of Rangers at heart, he decided to sell to Whyte, are you suggesting the SFA should have overruled Murray and told him he wasn’t allowed to flog Rangers to Whyte?) Rangers are rightly being taken to task for their woeful financial mismanagement but who is taking responsibility for the SFA's role? (Are you suggesting the SFA are somehow to blame for Rangers getting conned?) But the worst request any new owner could make would be for demotion to the Third Division. Rangers fans may have to write off title success for the next few years but they can blood their kids and fashion a new team in the SPL rather than at places such as Annan and Albion Rovers. Supporters are going to have to suck up a lot of pain in the next couple of seasons as the club struggles. Rangers can't be transformed overnight in the fashion of Chelsea or Manchester City because new investors won't have access to the billions of Roman Abramovich and his likes. But they'll hopefully have a wealth of integrity and decency, which seems to be in short supply right now. (The wisest words you have ever penned, unfortunately I don’t think you mean that Rangers are short of such attributes)
