Just glad you dropped the blatant sponsorship signature you had, mate!

If I remember right, you contemplated doing me for defamation of your online character/pseudonym. How's the legal tort going in that field? Expect a counter claim soon ..... My swimlets are getting bullied at school since your idle threats from across the globe!

How do you measure ambition? It is surely a personal goal and one that you can only judge yourself. Can someone really measure someone elses ambition. Do I lack ambition because I did not want to be a head of industry. Do you have to have the top job in your chosen field to prove your ambitious? Or can ambition be to be good at what you do?
I agree in a competitive environment like professional sport ambition is key. But to what degree. Did GJ ever want to be a manager?
My guess is his initial ambition was to be a professional footie player and earn a decent living from it. Maybe play for his country even captain it, but certainly have some measure of success.
Did he achieve any of that? Well he certainly became a professional player thats one tick in the box.
Successful? Only he can answer that. Top goalscorer for his current club in one seasonand still holds the record not too shabby.
Retired in good health, embarked on a secondary career as an assistant manager and is now No.2 of a premiership club. Another tick in the box.
I think a fare modicum of success so far. On a great salary with the club he has an affinity with and who hold him in high regard.
At what point in your career do you say well I have a great work/life balance and achieved some good things.
By not going on to become a manager at your first opportunity when he probably only set out to be a player does that show a lack of ambition I think not.
    Just my opinion of course.

He was interviewed by us before as a Championship club ... so not his first opportunity by far. Only he knows his limits and time will tell. If he has doubts, then I'd rather him stay put for his and more importantly OUR sake.

To me swans-m , keeping are players was more important than keeping our managers . The players are a big part of the value we got for the managers IMO . I'm kinda leaning to londonjack's answer that Jones wants to get to a huge club on the coat tails of Martinez , makes a lot of sense !

dragging on now and our chairman thinks its more important to go on holiday..<doh> Norwich are sorted and getting to work we are farting about with not a care in the world. it could back fire on us if we are left with the dregs because we pussyfoot around getting a manager at the last minute...There must be applications there at the liberty so why is jinks not here going through them instead of swanning of on holiday....he can go on holiday anytime but sort out the important stuff first....like norwich have.....the fixture list is out soon and we dont have anyone in place because the chairman's on holiday.......maybe you can do that in the lower leagues but you cant hang about in the premiership or you will find yourself with little time to do things that will need to be done...

Rather the right manager late than the wrong manager early DAI . Huw track record is pretty darn good over all , not going to doubt him now . And whose to say what he's doing behind the scenes , on the super highway , as he is out of town . Could be a working vacation for all we know , Huw keeps the club business to himself on the most part

There is still no rush its only been a week, players are away and hardly any transfers will be taking place while the Euros are on. So you take your time HJ, enjoy your holiday you deserve it.

HJ is quoted as saying that as a club we recently take an average of 7-12 days to appoint a manager, so we are well within that at the moment.

The post is saying that a new manager will likely be in place within the week, that would be consistent with the other times we changed managers.

If Jenkins is on holiday then I'm pretty sure he won't be just sunning himself, he know the importance of appointing the right man as soon as possible. With Martin Morgan's travel firm possibly finding him a quiet retreat could be the ideal opportunity to conduct interviews well away from the prying eyes of the media.

Heard that GJ took the huff when he learnt that we wanted to speak to others before finally deciding who to offer the job to.
