They don't have loads of cash and are desperate for Champs Lge football to boost their coffers. They can't sign proven, top International stars the way clubs like Lille, Monaco and PSG can, that is why they are trawling the Championship for players with potential. Gradel isn't going there as a star, he's going as a hot prospect....forget all this £25k nonsense.

OKay that may be true what you've said. I dont know what clubs can and cant afford so i just want to know how you do. They may have been playing around with relegation. I dont know the history of St. Etienne to be brutally honest but then you dont know what the average wage is in the french league do you? They could get alot more TV money because they are in the top french league or they coulda just sold a player for a substantial amount or... he coulda taken a pay cut to return back to his roots. BTW St Etienne have been after the player for weeks and it happens the day before deadline closing day. That’s what I don’t agree with and dont think is right. That’s why I think theres something dodgy but treating people with such contempt as you are makes me think you’re a twat If he wanted to go, then he wants to go. We’ve made money out of him that probably wont be put back in for transfers etc and may well disappear but rather than lose him for free, I’d rather make some money from him IF I knew it was going back into the club. And I just don’t think it will be.
Fair enough, but I'd quite like you to point out where I called anyone an idiot. I've been accused enough time of mindless optimism etc. etc. to feel entitled to say I think people are letting their hatred of Bates, for whatever reason, get in the way of what we actually know about the situation.
