Just because he asks for £25k doesn't mean he thinks he will get it, Leeds offer £14k he says he wants £25k probably hoping the club meet him in the middle somewhere. Johnson walks as we don't meet his wage expectations, Beckford walks the season before due to wages, Kilkenny walks on a free and goes to Bristol City as they can afford to pay him more than we can and now Gradel is probably going to be shown the door as we can't pay him more either. Add to that the failings in the transfer market so far with Lonergran being paid more by Preston, Bowyer being offered peanuts and anyone else we have failed to sign and the worrying aspect is we cant meet the wage demands.
This is the most sensible comment here if it comes out that he actually IS for sale, there would prob be a number of clubs that would be willing to take him, both in this division and the prem.

Johnson wanted the same as Becchio and Snoddy, which he's never worth. Wages may mean nothing to Leicester but we need to bare in mind that the other players would want more for "parity" and more again upon promotion. It's just not viable. If he were willing to drop his demands to £18k or so though...
guys its not about whether we can afford it or not, maybe we cant i dont know its that these players are not worth these wages. Johnson was not worth the wages he was asking for, kilkenny was not worth the wages he was asking for regardless of what he is getting at bristol city, and gradel is certainly not worth 25k a week. I dont actually think he is even our second best winger at the club, he had a good season but his good season was scoring goals, he didnt do much else right, i was stunned when he got player of the year because all he had done was score goals, he always looked likely of losing the ball. Well if he is going to leave for Fulham maybe a deal can be struck with regards to Stockdale although again wages would cause a problem. I guess as a Leeds fan you get used to the disruption at the start of a season
