Sorry, but you're really clutching at straws saying that initial contact is when their shorts are barely touching. I can see other freeze frames on youtube that make it look like a clear penalty. Pretty defensive about it though. I haven't heard any reporter/pundit/writer saying that contact was outside the box, have you????? Show me 1 article that says it wasn't inside the box and I'll show you 10 that say it was. You got away with it and your left back is not suspended anyway
The initial contact occurred outside the box. Free kick. Simple as. Red Card? Yes I'd find it hard to argue with that.
Yes Evra should have walked, penalty no, as you can see from the pic. Its about time we got the rub of the green an Chavland.
All I'm saying is ask any non-Man Utd fan from anywhere in the world and they'll say it was a penalty. It's not my fault your red tinted glasses are welded to your head!
For all the blind mancs the contact that can be classed as a foul is where the offence is given, not where the players first come into contact, the actual foul, ie the scissoring of Ramirez by Evra (Lmao) happened 2 yards inside the box. Penalty red card, but as you said, last time they had some luck this time ye had, who cares. We arent arguing the decision, but please, it was not even a debatable penalty it is 100% red and penalty, the fact that this is argued against in light of crystal clear video evidence is why I stay off the united board. Evra left the ground and foued Ramirez inside the area even though there was non foul minimal contact before they entered the box.
Whats so stupid about that?? Every TV Pundit, News Reporter, Writer said it was a penalty??? Every neutral said it was a penalty!! Even Fergie didn't say it was outside the box for ****s sake! "The anger from the whole of Chelsea when Spanish referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco refused them an obvious penalty in stoppage time when Patrice Evra brought down Ramires" (BBC) "Patrice Evra's double leg-wrap on Ramires in added time ought to have led to a penalty" (Guardian) And the Best one of all!!!!! "I tried to go for the ball, I touched the ball and the player as well. I was not scared to concede a penalty" PAtrice Evra claiming that he got the ball, not saying it was outside the box, but saying he got the ball! That's game, set and match as far as I'm concerned if your own player doesn't even use your argument!
http://therepublikofmancunia.com/picture-sorry-chelsea-fans-it-wasnt-a-pen/ Where did you say Evra left the ground outside the box or inside?
I agree Evra's against West Ham was a definite penalty, just pointing out the fallacy in KPR's argument that it can't be a penalty cos it was three yards away. Last night, yes Evra should have been sent off, and the ref could have given a free kick or a penalty depending on his reading of the incident. Penalty was probably most likely, cos even tho the original contact occured outside the box the majority of the contact was inside. But of course Essien and Ramires should also have walked for two clear yellow card offences each. That's football for you. As for the match being cagey, well it's pretty much the only balanced tie. I would have thought neutrals would have preferred to see a close game with plenty of end to end action and fairly evenly matched teams, rather than watch Barca and Real utterly steamrollering their opponents and Inter's defence taking a collective holiday. Unless they weren't really neutrals of course... And I wonder how open the Barca - Real semi final is going to be, now Mourinho's learned his lesson about trying to attack Barca and play openly?
How could Essien and Ramires be sent off for two yellows when they committed one foul.I think you're clutching at straws.Evra should have been sent off,Chelsea should have got a penalty, and Vidic by rights should have a 3 game ban when he was wrongfully not sent off last saturday. He along with Rooney should be out of the cup semi.So Ferguson has nothing to whinge about. He's got lucky twice in the same week.Add that to the other 3 occasions, when Gary Neville twice should have seen red,and John O Shea should have seen red,and Berbatovs non penalty against Liverpool.
No...I'd much rather watch a 4-0, a 5-2 or a 5-1 than a 1-0. Put it this way, was the spurs game at the weekend more exciting than your game against west ham?
Ha Ha, your just jealous beacause we will be 12-0 on premier titles and 3-1 on champions leagues. You are bitter because we have a better history than you and a future. Man U the religion Treble winners 1999, 2011. Liverpool ****e won **** all 1990- 2011
The game against the Hammers was different cos we had to come back from two goals down. That game wasn't over till our fourth goal went in. The better comparison is our 7-1 win against Blackburn - did you watch that? After 48 minutes that was boring even for a United fan! The 2-5 to Schalke was probably more worth watching due to the shock value, but did you seriously prefer Real laying siege to ten man Spurs over an evenly matched contest with great saves by both keepers, a shot cleared off the line and critical action right till the end of the game. I'm sure there were plenty of Scousers on the edge of their seat by the end of that game screaming for Chelsea to score, whilst most people would have turned off the Real - Spurs match after the third goal.
Man United deserve luck at Stamford Bridge. Why? They get lucky at most grounds they play at.So why single out one ground? Okay Drogba's goal in 2010 was possibly 3 yards offside. But it was as on-side as Berbatovs two goals against Celtic in the Champions League a couple of years ago, both of which were about the same distance offside.Mancs have selective memories. You get some decisions, and sometimes you don't.But to suggest that you deserve luck at one particular ground is pure nonsense, especially considering when you've got lucky at half the grounds including your own in the premier league. I doubt it if Ferguson is complaining about referees this week. No penalty given for a blatant penalty at SB. Wayne Rooney not getting an automatic 3 match ban for a straight red card offence, swearing at the crowd is a red card offence. The ref said if he had seen it,he would have issued a straight red.He got off with a two match ban. Vidic not getting a straight red,and should have been dismissed anyway with two yellows when he only got one.Two fouls, one yellow. He wasn't booked when he gave away the penalty. He was booked for the other one.The letter of the law states the player that commits a foul when conceding a penalty is 9/10 times booked.Vidic wasn't. He should keep his mouth shut in future.Instead of having this ''Hard-done by'' look on his face.Because lets be fair. He's not hard done by.
Man United have a future. In a few years time they won't. They will be sharing deepdale with Preston when Old Trafford is sold to Tesco by the banks. They will be sharing Oldhams training ground when their own training ground is turned into a car-park. They will be managed (badly) by Viv Anderson and will their local derby will be against Macclesfield.
