Thats why no one will beat it unless a really big time gets relegated twice. Because Stadiums are now all seater and Health and Safety are all over everything no one is going to beat that record anytime soon. The only way is if the play off finals count
What is the latest with these Safe Standing areas that were proposed? The last I heard was that SPL and Aston Villa were keen. A good idea but I still think intervention from FA/Police will occur.
The autorities have said they would be fine with safe standings area but no one has a concept yet of a safe standing area what will please health and safety. To be honest i cant see it coming back into the game.
Maybe they could copy the standing areas used in some English Division two, three and four grounds if the more modern designs used in German grounds and currently being displayed around the Country don't amuse them? Possibly an improvement on the unsafe standing areas that exist in current grounds?
£15-20 each week with the right marketing. The key phrase being 'with the right marketing'. The people of Leeds need to be (re)attracted to the club.
I think 20-25 a ticket would get Elland Road over 30k but realistically to get it full again it would have to be 15-20 quid, and i would encourage more free tickets to schools!
I just checked and the record attendace for a league 1 fixtures is in fact Sheffield Wednesday V Sheffield United on 26.12.1979 The attendace was 49,309
As League One was introduced for the 2004–05 season, a game in 1979 hardly qualifies(particularly under the 'in the modern game' qualification of the OP). As far as the Div 3 record is concerned, the "Boxing Day Massacre" game in '79 is an unconfirmed and apparently unreliable number(though it obviously was high and might well have been the highest).
