The Chairboys travel to South West London to take on the relegation threatened Wombles for our first ever meeting at Plough Lane in the Football League the New Plough Lane Stadium is about 200 meters from the original Stadium on the site of of the old Greyhound Stadium. This is a must win game for both teams but for different reasons. The Wombles haven't won a game this year so the mess they are in is of their own making and since sacking their manager in January have only picked up 6 points 4 in February and 2 this month. Gaz is likely to name an unchanged squad but Wheeler Obita and Grimmer are all pushing for a start. I won't be traveling but I did see us play at the old Plough Lane a pre season friendly back in 1975. This game is being shown live on Wanderers TV but I have family commitments and I don't think I will be home in time but I will be keeping everything crossed and if we play to our capabilities we should collect the spoils of war
The proverbial banana skin. If we slip up I reckon play-offs will be out of the question. If we win we are in with a fighting chance. Could we beat the in form Sheff W?
Yes they let two in yesterday, Franchise probably went in thinking we are going to win this with past dozen games or so
⚽ Matchday Just been looking at Wycombe Wanderers' LEAGUE record AWAY to Wimbledon. ⛔#chairboys not won there since 1957. In 12 subsequent attempts, 4 draws and 8 defeats. ✔️Records there to be broken
Yep. Stats like that are totally pointless. Prior to this season, can't think of one thing that is the same as in previous matches, apart from each team will start with 11 players on the pitch. When we played them in December, we were 1 down with 16 mins to go the Bayo equalised. Wombles went ahead again in stoppage time but JJ rescued us with a 96th min penalty. That is more of a concern than any stats. And our team that day: We had someone called Al- Hamadi on the bench. What happened to him?
Just the one change to bring you in this afternoon's #Chairboys starting XI - Obita in for Jacobson. Stewart also takes a place back on the bench. COYB! #AFCWvWYC https://t.co/UsB3rwHqkx
Don't like the look of our bench if we are in need of goals. We need another classy striker as back up/alternative for McCleary and Mehmeti
13 Shots 3 on target sums it up, I am afraid to say once Wimbledon scored we have to break them down & that's not our game
