Well the way I see it, is if the players aren't willing to learn from one of the best players of all time, maybe its high time they get shipped off to another club! On another note, maybe ML is adapting the teams style so that if plan A doesn't work this season, then they players will become more comfortable playing a different style of football. Either way, if the players aren't willing to accept ML new style then they can feck off to another club!

When I get "sick to death of this place",Knackered,I quietly drop out for a while, couple of weeks,a month or two.

Recharge the batteries, put this place into some sort of perspective.

At the end of the day,it's nothing of real importance.

    You can live without it.

I mean to say,you spend hours preparing/crafting and then submitting a thread or post, just for someone to tell you that you are talking through your ass. ...

    Great,innit?

Do you understand what forum rules mean Dai? The fact I stated you love disharmony isn't a direct insult. Your post is and will hopefully be removed but I'm not holding my breath. The abuse on here is getting beyond. Always the usual suspects, and now we've got another unhinged wonder. Just what we ****ing need. I've had enough.

It would appear that Brendan got very cosy with the players and vice versa. Nothing wrong with that perse, but where it may cause a problem is when the manager becomes very close to the players. This, in my opinion, is where leadership becomes blurred. Brendan was`nt "one of the boys" he was the boss & he should have perhaps, kept a certain distance from the players.

Perhaps some of these guys are upset that ML is`nt as "close" to them as Rodgers was. My view, tough, get over it. You`re highly paid footballers get on with the job you`re paid to do, and very handsomely. They are probably now having to work a bit harder that they`re used to. Perhaps they`re training now consists of more that nice pretty passing sessions with a drink in the bar afterwards.

Cue the snipers ready to cut me down in pieces, ouch that hurt! .............

Life ins't fair, but we sometimes have to work with people we don't get on with or in fact dislike, but thats life. In my job I could quite easily tell people were to go etc, but thats not professional of me.

I will work withe these people as this is what I'm paid to do. So I would expect any Swans player to do the same, be professional enough to give it there all for ML even if they dislike him. Because at the end of the day ML doesn't pay their wages, it's us fans who buy season tickets, merchandise etc so they can go out and spend silly amounts of money on luxury goods.

So I expect then to graft as hard doing their job the same as we all do!!!

Player power. The very words make me sick!! Since Sky brought money into the game the only ones to benefit have been the players and their cockroaches, sorry, agents. Very little of this money has been used to help the fans by subsidising the cost of tickets and giving the game back to the people.

The trouble is, the top players such as Ya Ya and Rooney etc get paid obscene amounts of money, which then sets the benchmark for other, bog standard, run of the mill players who end up being paid vastly more than their real worth.

In my Utopia I would have organisations such as FIFA and EUFA set a worldwide maximum salary of say £75k weekly for the superstars with the rest downgraded accordingly. They won't starve on a salary approaching £4 million a year plus endorsements etc. They might not like it but are they likely to walk away? I don't think so! Walk away to do what? Work on a factory production line? Work in an office for a comparative pittance like the rest of us? You bet your arse they won't.

So what happens to the surplus cash that the clubs would have? Great reductions in the cost of admission for a start; then extend the stadia to cater for all those who could now afford to watch. And, of course, invest in the local sporting infrastructure, grass roots and schools to give more kids a chance.

Transfer fees could be geared to a maximum multiplication factor of a players salary, so there would be far more stability in the game without players moving around playing musical wallets. The clubs would know where they stand and could plan accordingly and, naturally, strict rules of financial conduct would have to introduced to stop unscrupulous investors and owners from siphoning off the surplus funds into their own pockets.

I know this will never happen but I believe it should... or something like it; and I know that there are all sorts of pitfalls and arguments against what I am proposing as it is just an idea off the top of my head. But it's a lovely thought, though.

I totally agree with you. the players power cancels out any contract they ever sign.....I want to see that when clubs offer a contract then the player has to honor it. none of this buy out clause or if a bigger club comes in for you rubbish. you stay with the club till the contract is over or if the club agrees the player can be sold.....

I do beleive there is a bit of sobbing for Brendens methods, no friendly "fantastic" "top four player " type comments to massage the ego's, no saying the right things and using buzz words like "the group" every 5 mins etc, etc.

We saw a similar fall out with bobby but you would have thought that the players would have learnt from that. If Micheal Laudrup was my manager i would be chomping at the bit to pick up from his knowledge and try and learn from his skills, what Brenden has on a clipboard Laudrup has in his boots, to me if somebody shows you how to play the pass it has to better than reading it from a manual ??

I am guessing in these comments of course, nobody knows anything,we will find out on Saturday though and if the players dont put in 100% effort the Jack faithful will sniff it out straight away!!
I get the feeling that Laudrup has the full backing of all supporters and if the players dont put it in for him on the field then the fans will side with Laudrup over the footballers.

I also beleive in the comments above,pre-season is about trying new things, it may well be that we have been trying a new system of play and trying to make it workable, rodgers did the same against Wolves with some success but it fell down on the defensive level.
It would not suprise at all to see us revert to type in most of our games, if any of you actually listened to the full interview on swans player you will be glad to know that he mentioned keeping the ball is of paramount importance as with it you dont get hurt..this comment i took as him saying we will basically play exactly the same, what we can now do is switch between the two types of play at certain times during the game! we may spend 60mins playing keep ball and making the opposition get tired then revert to attck for 10mins then revert back, its a method that many la liga team employ, having gears in the performance is important and something we did lack at times with rodgers.

this may well be the plan b,c and d that laudrup talked about, its not always about playing one way for 90mins, there are often many subtle changes within 90mins of football, it would not suprise me that he has been working on options to add to our passing game, not trying to take our passing game away.

thats my take on it anyway <ok>

I have to disagree. Look at it from the players point of view. If a club is making millions/billions revenue, and essentially I'm the product then I'm gonna want my fair cut of that money. Id be thinking, without us (the products of the business) there is no multi millions of pounds to be made. It's not the players fault, they are imo claiming from what they are making the club... It's the people who pay the clubs this money that has ruined it.

Nice to see that a football discussion has broken out.

I can't for the life of me imagine why any player wouldn't want to learn off someone like Michael Laudrup, I'm willing to bet they can't get the ball from him in training.
