It's mainly because my dad paid for 10mb broadband, only to find out that it was "up to" 10mb, not actually 10mb, and the speed we were actually getting was only around 3.95mb.

Handy tip - if you ring up Virgin and tell them you're thinking about leaving they give you loads of deals! Well at least they did like a year ago when we got half price TV for like 6 months

You should actually check if you're getting the 15mb, it's actually "up to 15mb".

Most internet providers do that. No matter who you're on it'll normally be up to 10 or 20 and you will very very rarely get anywhere near the actual speed it says. I'd say 4 or 5 is about average probably
