Now there´s a sight to ease any sore eyes
As they say, the table just never lies,
Personally I´m glad to see Ipswich too
Enjoying for once, a share of the highs
By the end of this week, a quarter way
We will have surpassed on our way to May,
And very soon a pattern will emerge
As to whom up there might very well stay
Certainly now a prized scalp we will be
Sitting, as we do, rather prettily,
But we´ve seen quite a hardiness this year
Not taking one point if we can get three
And all are saying our squad is the best
Though we´ll need more than that to pass the test,
So far that extra ingredient, we´ve found
To keep us up there ahead of the rest
If the table can look something like this
At Christmas, then not much will be amiss,
But one game at a time must be the aim
To help us stay clear of any abyss
And if by the time that May comes around
We are still up there on top of the mound,
Then we can all say that´s a job well done
But for now, my feet are well on the ground. OTBC
