I've been a fan of the Braves since I spent a year living in Atlanta on a student exchange in 95-96. Yes I was there when we won the world series, but as it was Atlanta I was living in I think I can be excused from being a glory hunter.
Anyway, my point is that in all of the years since then I don't remember us having an 11-1 start in our first 12 games. I know we are traditionally seen as strong starters who blow it in the play-offs (a bit like the Falcons so it must be an Atlanta thing), but as an armchair fan I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether the Braves stand a realistic chance of success this year. From what I have seen so far the pitching has looked better. The Braves do well when their success is bult on pitching more than batting so could this be their year?
Forgive my armchair fan status, but at least I'm making an effort!
