On Thursday my missus finished going to Clatterbridge cancer hospital in Liverpool for chemo and radiotherapy.After 28 daily visits travelling from over the water ( Neston) to Pembroke place she's finally finished treatment , hopefully forever.
Don't want loads of best wishes just post yer good news for others to share.

My good news, well, nearly finished book 7, started a new job in June in mental health services which is great and so rewarding.

And despite the cost of living crap, I'm working hard to keep the food bill down so I don't have to sacrifice anything I consider important. We have no kids and I was worried I might have to give up my sponsored child Stephen in Ghana which I was determined I wouldn't do. I've been paying for his education and clothes for four years. He's twelve now and a young man and I want to sponsor him until he's eighteen. Plus my cat is very important to me and I want to keep up with her insurance and food.

cat insurance is a luxury.

speaking as a savagely black and white kind of person on this. They are animals. they get sick they get put down. this thing of hospitals and ops for these animals is crazy to me. Don't mind anyone feeding a pet not loving a pet and all that good stuff but the second they've something serious... nope sorry.

At this point there's people living off foodbanks up and down the country so that really makes me sad.

Pet insurance is a bloody con tbh. If you claim for a condition they won't insure again because they see it as a pre-condition and if you go elsewhere the premiums are sky high. The thing is our old cat Fluff had to have expensive treatment after the vet ****ed up on a minor procedure for her teeth and she ended up in hospital. We didn't have to pay because it was their fault, but it was scary and we nearly lost her. She came through it and lived until she was 20. We insured our Treacle because we were scared the same thing might happen and she's a rescue we've had for seven years, a little horror and we love her to bits. I couldn't give her up. She's my baby. I get why people have had to give up their pets if they have families to support but as it's just me and Him Indoors it would kill me to do it

Could eat the cat; save a bit on human food and a lot on cat food, plus the insurance. Everyone's a winner

I paid £1500 for my dog to get a cancerous lump removed. Got another 12 months out of her before it came back.

Worth every penny.

It's a funny thing with pets, it's just a dog until it's your own. Then it's a different matter.

In saying that I've got two cats and I couldnt give a **** about them.

I know, it is what it is, as a yank would say but in the end I've had plenty of pets and really at times I wonder about prolonging for who? I've had dogs knocked down on the road or dogs living a long time and limping round and really.... it is a luxury that it up to anyone to decide themselves.

I can't bring myself to agree with superior services for cats and dogs to what people get in the nhs (at tines)
