I agree 100%. Every time i see russia play, Arshavin is in his chosen attacking midfiled role, and he's (nearly) always good. We need a creative midfielder (badly), so surely moving Arshavin inside should see us through until autumn, when we can sign a permanent replacement. Then again, Wenger works in mysterious ways...

stick him in the AM role against Leeds on Monday :) Put Arteta & Rosicky behind him, give Song a rest, and see what happens!

It's leeds. He should do well. If he's ****e against leeds, in his preferred role, he should be sold the next day.

I'd rather a younger one that could be made permanent if he performs well. Tho an older head may steady the ship better and be ok with being benched later in the season.

No that's what makes it even worse.

Technically arshavin is one of the best players in the league but he's such an arrogant, lazy bastard. I dont want a player who 90% of the time strutes around the pitch like he could'nt give a ****.(the other 10% of the time he looks fantastic)

ALSO who cares if he would 'prefer' to play behind a central a striker!!

Thierry Henry, David Silva, David Villa, Rooney, Tevez are all examples of players who prefer to play centrally but all been moved to wide positions.(where they all put in top performances)

I think we still need some cover at LB though. Vermaelen does a good job there, but his best position is at CB, by a country mile.
