No idea Plym, not as close to the internal goings on at the club these days, and those who I do still know are fairly tight lipped about sensitive issues. A definite culture change (for the better) since DA arrived- i.e. the only truth is the last update from the club which was that he is injured!
Talk of mid to late January awhile back....lets hope thats true.....we could have done with our strongest team for next Tuesday.....an important game to win....would give us a buffer and a genuine three points cushion on same games played with Northampton.
Does anyone know if Reuben Reid is fully fit? I assume he must be but Adams is taking the view that Brunt has done too well to be dropped. It must be good for morale in the wider squad to know that's the way he works. Also keeps Reid out of the transfer window spotlight perhaps.....
Whispers about a loan move for Jordan Forster 23yr old Scot, a Hibs defender.....played 45 times and scored 5 times.......ex Celtic apprentice.....can play central defender or right back. PS.......my laptop has suddenly got a mind of it's own and has started printing like this......help. PPS......only happening on this website ?
I don't think Reid is injured anymore notdistant. Obviously not match fit as he hasn't played any but think the injury bit is over.
Sheridan played him whilst he was still injured. Mind you I don't think Adams would do the same somehow. Reid has been on for minutes recently.
Yes maybe and am not sure I would be too worried if he went -providing it generates enough money to strengthen elsewhere. Would rather keep him than not, but we seem to have adapted to playing (and scoring) without him...
Said that myself somewhere else. Reid has not played for a while and we have just won 4 out of 4 over the Christmas/New Year. I don't think we have missed him if honest although I would not be sorry to see him stay either.
Brunt's done pretty well lately and seems to fight the fight across the whole of the opponents' defence compared to Reid, who seems to get pinned against the centre-backs. Is that deliberate on his part looking for a "pin amd spin" manoeuvre or just a failing? I don't know. The thing is though that if it's a last minute chance to win a playoff game or a crucial penalty, Reid's your man every time isn't he? That's why he needs to stay.
Just a illustration Sensible, I think going up as champions is the objective we should be setting from where we are now! Wish I hadn't said that in public.
That's done it notdistant. Plym will spread it all over the forums now. If we don't go up you will get hate mail from everywhere.
Joking aside though, it's easy to get carried away but automatic promotion is surely an irreducible minimum target given where we are now and the performances we've seen from this team when everyone is available. And the stretch target has to be the cahmpionship. Anything else would lack ambition.
Well it wouldn't be lack of ambition from the faithful and the only place it could come from now is the Boardroom. It's a catch 22 isn't it. We would damn them if they didn't make the effort and double damn them if we made the effort, didn't succeed even then and went tits up financially. I don't know anyone who follows the greens who would settle for less than promotion this season. At the very least automatic if not as champions. It's their very success that has set the bar not pre-season thoughts we would be where we are.
There is a really positive story in the Herald today. After just about every Manager in Argyle's history telling everyone it was hard to get players to come here Adams has just stated that every player he has spoken to wants to come here. What a change that makes because I have never really subscribed to the "won't come" statements. There are less options for Brits these days in terms of clubs so they cannot afford to be that choosy. The other statement is that he wants to keep the squad he has together and there has been an offer for one of our players which was rejected. Whilst it is far too early to say nobody will go I'm assuming from what is said that it will be for a sum we can't refuse rather than a give away which is the Argyle norm.
