Ristac, as I think you know, I wrote a few games ago that I don't think that we are getting into the playoffs this season. That being said, we are still 5 points out of 6th place and while we have to rely on other teams falling, we should be playing for maximum points still. The time to give up and play games as meaningless is when there is no longer a mathematical chance of making the playoffs, IMHO.
We need 16 points to scrape the minimum required to get into the playoffs, but with so many teams going for it I see it being 75 to get in there.
Ermm wake up! We are garbage. The teams a joke apart from Snodgrass, Becchio and Lonergan. Can you imagine any decent premier league team, even pretending to look at any of our other squad members as potential signings? Nope me neither. The reason we have such a poor squad is our chairman. Who has never EVER invested any money into our squad, from his own coffers. If we manage more than 10 points from the remainder of our matches i'll genuinely be amazed. Bates is a cancer and is unfortunately at the heart of our club. We cant even afford to pay, half decent wantaway premiership players, a reasonable wage to lure them to our club. That is because the chairman wont pay decent wages, which our club should be able to afford. So we are stuck with loanees and freebies. Until Ken Bates leaves (and unfortunately it looks like it will only be on his death bed) Leeds Utd will continue to have no decent players! This is because decent players cost MONEY, which our chairman is happy to skim off from the sales of our best players, but not to spend on players. Lets be fair he does have tax free bank accounts to bolster, bless him. It's supposed to work like this incase anybodys forgot..... Rich person takes over club. Rich person invests 10-30 million into club, on the expenditure of talented sought after players. Team starts to have success and is promoted into the premier league. Team has now reached the holy grail of football, receives copious amounts of revenue from premier league and sponsors, gagging to be part of a premier league football team and emblazoned on said teams shirt. Ask Man city fans, Chelsea fans, hell even Stoke city fans, who are actually the perfct working model, of how to build a fairly successful premier league football team. He doesn't sell the teams best players, for "undisclosed" amounts and pocket the money! In summary F*** OFF Bates, we dont want you and NEVER did.
