This is what I was getting at on 26 metres thread. How much we must be throwing away on this kind of player. We probably paid him half of that to be fair so he still has a chance of finding a club to also pay him & maybe play him <ok>

I still think he could do a job at a lower championship club or do well in L1. Looked good when he was out on loan last season.

Bucks - I may have read you wrong but I thought the £1m rumour is that we pay Norwich £1m and give them Becchio, and in return we just get Morrison. In other words we pay out £1m. This is why I can't believe this story - we don't appear to have £10 to spend never mind £1m <laugh>

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Nunez go to a club & a league where they play more tippi tappi footy on the floor & give you more time on the ball. There's not much of him. So I don't think he was ever really suited to the mad rush that is L1 & Championship footy

Nunez was a massive surprise to most people. Yes he seemed to have something about him, and spent quite a while on trial before Grayson decided to give him a massive contract. Why would you give a young, lightweight inexperienced player a contract of that size? A couple of decent games before vanishing, stupid and a drain on our very low wage budget.

Bucks if Nunez was on say 6k per week which is probably not far off that equates to us owing him 1.2 million over the 4 years so I bet it cost at least 500k to pay him out of that contract.

Be very surprised (and disappointed!) if Nunez was on 6k a week. Maybe half that.

    Kiwi

his first contract will have been half that but factor in wage rise plus agent fees and signing on bonus will work out around 6k I reckon.

Doubt if Warnock is even on 6k a week. I'd say Nunez about 2k. Buyout would be about 200k and still a waste. Who makes the final decision to sign some of the rubbish we end up with?

Just find it difficult to believe we wouldn't give players like Johnson parity in terms of wages (when at the time, I doubt Howson and Kilkenny were on much more than 5/6k a week), a player who had played consistently in the first team for 2 season prior to that, but we would pay the same amount to Nunez who had a decent loan spell at Scunny and about 5 Leeds games under his belt.

    I can just see it....

Today excited that we might sign; Warnock, Morrison, Habibou.

Tomorrow 10.00pm we sign some trialist and just missed out on a couple but anticipate new faces when the loan window opens, actually I wouldn't put it past us to do a u-turn and we end up with some old croc like Tate

This board have just over 24 hours to prove they are better than Bates.

Steve Morison has scored 10 goals in 53 apperances for Norwich. He has scored once in 20 appearances for Wales.

Why am I not excited to see him coming to us?

I see him to be more similar to Keogh though. Does a lot for the team and a goal scorer works well with him up front, I'd expect McCormack to have a better partnership with him and score more goals. I do see him as a player that is capable of playing in the prem, unluckily for him he has a Norwich legend in Holt above him otherwise I think he woulda got a more considerable amount of games there. In fairness though, his goal scoring record was decent at Millwall, averaging a goal every 2.3 games

Or who knows, I could be completely wrong
