Pearce was immense for Portsmouth. Maybe with a run of games with a unchangeable back four & decent coverage from our midfield we may also see the best out of him. Unfortunately I have seen to many defenders over the last few seasons that just couldn't hack it, but I wouldnt have put Pearce in that bracket before we signed him. I really thought we had a gem in him.

Don't think Pearce and Lees work together. Both decent defenders, but we need to pair them with a quality, experienced centre half, a la Kilgallon. Bringing him in wouldn't half be a statement of intent.
Hmmm. 'fraid I've never been a Kilgallon fan. In my view, we sold a young lad with a promising future, who went on to hit the heights of mediocrity.
