Morning Whitejock - I don't know who organised it but that's why I said you have to see it through Bates eyes. A sign goes up outside the ground, a demo is organised around it and Bates is going to assume it was organised by LUST. Around 200 people show up and Bates is going to call it a minority and dismiss it.

I wasn't commenting on the right or wrongs, just the way Bates would see it. IF it had been something properly organised with 5k fans then I would imagine it would have received plenty of coverage and hit home hard.

Morning all. Don't think Sky would be allowed to take a stake in any cub as their main role is to bid/show matches. If they even part owned a club, there would be a conflictof interests.

LUST are a good pressure group. Not sure now that they're helping their own cause. That said, this is Papa Smurf they're trying to deal withput pressure on. So there'll be plenty of smoke & mirrors on both sides. The only certainty is that everything is still uncertain, althoughI do get the strong impression that things are moving forward apace with 31/12 & the next T/W being a major deadline.

As I've said elsewhere, so long as we're within touching distance of auto/playoffs, with players coming back & new players coming in, its not all doom & gloom. Keep the faith people. MOT

Morning all

Just seen this quote from Daily Mail ( from bbc Gossip Page)

"Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson is being given the green light to splash out on Leicester striker Jermaine Beckford, 28, and Reading forward Simon Church, 23"

If only we had some "green lights"

Yep, I was wondering when that would get spent. And I imagine they'll still have a chunk left as well, though Beckford will probably want pretty big wages. Not too bothered about Church though, wasn't too bothered about us signing him when we were apparently linked either. (Though of course, now I've said that he'll go on to be the top scorer <laugh>)

If they get Beckford, the Leeds 'Udders match takes on epic proportions. Local rivalry, the return of SG, now Beckford as well (possibly).

Any chance we could get Beckford on a 93 day loan with the option to buy when the new money finally arrives in January?

Morning All,
Not too fussed about Beckford anymore. I was at the beginning but I can see Becchio grabbin plenty of goals and Ross when he's back. Poleon must have lots of confidence aswell now. I still would like a winger with pace and another CM. Maybe give Sanchez Payne a run out tomorrow? Going to write up Leeds and Everton match thread soonish.

No they don't. If I remember correctly they had to sell because a TV-company was not allowed to own a football club or something like that. I have to admit I'm not sure about why they sold. But I think it was something like that<ok>

Back when we were in the premier league I was lucky enough to manage 38 home matches and two away without witnessing a defeat. Those matches included Liverpool, Arsenal and several European midweek games. My away game was Old Trafford where we drew 0-0 and away to Leicester in the league cup, I think we won 5-0 when they were in their old stadium, I remember Michael Duberry standing in front of the Leeds supporters (he was a sub warming up) waving his arms and getting us all to sing the Chelsea scum song.

I used to think what a terrible journey it would be travelling back down the M1 after a defeat.

Norway would you care to explain to me why a company/consortium would spend a massive amount of money doing due diligence and then have months of negotiations just to invest. Makes no sense at all i'm afraid.
LUST, well done lads you've done a fantastic job and i'm proud to be one of your 'silly' followers.

Spot on. Bates on way out. Just wants to have some position at club for a while so he can continue to pretend he's a big wig. In twelve months he'll be consigned to the dark history of Leeds. As regards LUST, would we be where we are at this moment with takeover talks without them? Like hell we would. They're playing a blinder while others happily sat behind their keyboards and did nothing

I have explained this before, but I will do it again for you<ok>
When you are dealing with a business as complex as a football club, especial if someone as Bates owns it. You want to know what’s going on in the club and what you are putting your money into. And to make sure you’re not just throwing money into a black hole you will do due diligence.
Some assumes that if you do a due diligence you are going to or have to buy the whole company/business or the majority of the stocks. But this is not true, you will also want to do due diligence if you are going to buy a large part of a business or if there is a large money transaction to be done. This to make sure that you money is in safe hands<ok>

It's definitely a takeover and not merely investment. I say that without any inside knowledge, but no one invests so much time and money with due diligence and months of negotiations simply to invest a few million pounds. Bates still craves the limelight and wants to remain as some kind of figurehead, but his days are numbered <ok>

To make something clear, I would love for it to be a takeover and that Bates was on his way out. If that was going to happen, I would celebrate like a mad man and probably ejaculate in an ecstatic orgasm of pure joy<ok>

With regards to LUST, I really don't think they've slowed anything down, quite the opposite in fact. I believe that without LUST Bates would have quite happily been able to do what he liked and hold up the deal for as long as he liked behind the veil of "confidentiality". LUST's actions have forced Bates' hand IMO.
