Says who people. £3k per week (36k per year) is peanuts. I would struggle to believe that any of our senior players on such a piffling amount.
Believe it mate! Clayts got picked up from man citys release pile. There will be a hell of a lot of our players on feable ammounts, this is why re-negotiating contracts never go well. And 3K per week works out 156,000 per year. Obviously not take home once the tax man gets a bite.
Bucks, players wages are normally referred to as 'net of tax'. Bates has been quoted on this recently, so that's the term we use too.
Clayton is reportedly on 3-4k a week and was offered triple that and turned it down 9-12k per week. Footballers careers are short if I was him id go get more money elsewhere not like Leeds are going anywhere fast with that silly old **** involved
Players which sound like animals eter HaddockDavid BATtyIm sure there was a South African defender who played in the Prem 3/4 years ago called Fish????
3K per week clearly is £156k. 100 lines for Boggers. If he really did turn down 12k per week (624k per year plus bonuses), we are right to take a stand. Decent player he might be, but you wouldn't put your money on him changing games enough to warrant such wages.
Let's stop making up numbers to suit the anti-player arguments please. All it does is lead to statements like "he's a greedy git, we don't want that type at our club" It's as bad as the "O'Brien is on £25k per week" and "Bromby is on 13k per week" tripe that was previously spouted.
Mark Fish started out in Cape Town as a kid, his father was a rough dude so his mom fled to Pretoria. Here Fishy joined Arcadia Shepherds, the oldest club in SA and with a fantastic youth system. He progressed well, winning everything going in the juniors, and in his late teens he was sold to Jomo Cosmos, the club owned by Jomo Sono who played in the original NY Cosmos with Pele. Fishy progressed into the SA team and then went to Orlando Pirates, one of the big two in SA, the other being Kaizer Chiefs, the club Leeds bought The Chief from. After winning the African Cup of Nations, Fishy moved to Lazio, turning down a move to Man Scum, his boyhood idols, as he felt he would put himself under too much pressure trying to prove himself at the theatre of wet dreams. He felt a spell in Italy would mature him as a player and then he could go to Scum, except he wasn't to know you only get to reject Red Nose once to be forever forgotten. From Lazio it was off to Bolton, and then Charlton, achieving cult status at both clubs. After retiring, Fishy moved back to SA and bought Arcadia Shepherds, so going full circle.
