Elland, much would depend on how much time he has left on his contract. Leave aside that at the end of the season regardless of what division we're in, we should look to extend the contract again by a few more year. I think he's still got 2.5 to 3 yrs to go. So in answer to your question, it would take a lot more than 2m to prize him away.
Clayton + BJ would really sort out our DM. Pity it can't now happen. One wonders what Norwich offerred that we couldn't/wouldn't match... other than PL footy.
agreed, think he's got 2 years left, but if an offer of 4 million may be enough to line bates's pockets
A little less cynicism I think Elland. We may have just sold Max despite being told we'd hang onto him. But I think that had more to do with his family circumstances than anything else. I'm prepared, foolishly some might say, to take Papa Smurf & SG at their word when they say they won't sell such players (with the unwritten caveat that a silly money offer and/or a player's personal circumstances trump the stated plan). Time will tell, but I think it would take more than 4m to prize Becchio away.
Becchio is twice the player of Keogh, the transpormation wasd amazing when he came on, and Forssell looked handy too.
I'm normally quite optimistic, but after what has happened with Max, it has left a very sour taste in my mouth, 100 % LUFC
