Afternoon all Bates going, today is a great day! Probably no coincidence at all that we haven't splashed that kind of money through Bates reign. I'm interested in this news about Murphy though, that will be a good sign of ambition if we're putting that money out on a player (albeit one I know very little about, but in BMD I trust!)
We have just signed him, been announced by Sky. Really does show something, first 7 figure sum for 8 years
I go away and it all happens how's it going you miserable twats I are tc got what he wanted Moro back lmao you couldn't make that up
Afternoon all!! Man, what a dark cloud finally lifted with the Bates era finally done. Really hope our esteemed President never visits ER again. As for Harvey, GFH really need to sack him and get him out once and for all. Think he will definitely be gone by next summer. Murphy news very positive, at least it means McD is getting his targets in. We were linked with Murphy a month ago, so must have been waiting for funds and the lad wants to be at Leeds. Venkys can offer loads more in wages, so good for us if this deal gets done. What about Rowe at Posh? We were chasing him big time, and his club has publicly stated he wants to be at Leeds. Would like to see him added to the squad, with Norris and Green leaving.
Definitely want Rowe to join, he's a top player and gives us more options and cover, and some genuine pace and width. I'd sell Norris, along with Pugh and Brown, but keep Green - he's a decent player and we've never really given him a proper opportunity in the middle.
Green should be kept simply because he's actually a half decent utility player. Rest should go though
Agree, I like Green and think he can add something to a balanced midfield. He likes to get forward and support and we didnt get many goals from Midfield last season. Done well when played out of position 'on the wing' as well
Green and Tonge are both capable of adding goals from midfield, and with Austin and now Murphy I think we're probably set there, especially with Thompson and Dawson both breaking through. Now we just need a centre half and a couple of decent wingers and we're not looking too bad!
Murphy had 9 goals and 12 assists from midfield last season - would be interesting to see the stats of our central midfielders last year in comparison!
Afternoon all, With Evil Santa now pushed as far to the sides as is probably contractually possible, Harvey taking a back seat and some transfer activity, today seems a good day for change. So I couldnât think of a better time to join the realm of contributors from that of the long term lurking-reader. I used to post sporadically on the 606 boards but since then have only been a reader of the forums that were created after its demise. Mainly out of laziness but partially out of self restraint - so as not to land myself in trouble posting about the aforementioned. Iâm still not sure what to expect given todayâs developments. Cautious with a strange sense of optimism probably sums up my thoughts. A sense of relief that the non-consensual âdrawn out affair with plenty of foreplay and slow arousalâ is now at an end. Hopefully weâll find the therapy we all need, and a helping hand to get back on our feet, in the form of this new look board. Let's face it, they can't do much worse! To say a quick few words about Evil Santa before he takes his money, business contracts and title back to Monaco; I think Judge Gosnell described his actions at Leeds perfectly when describing harassment and confirming our former chairman was a perpetrator of it in the Levi case: "conduct calculated to cause alarm or distress ⦠objectively judged to be oppressive and unacceptable" and involves "torment of the victim, of an order which would sustain criminal liability" As for Evil Santaâs legacy at Leeds. Until last year's take over we were rolling straight back to where we started 8 years ago (debt and losing our best players) albeit it having filtered funds into property the club doesnât own and salaries. His only legacy at our club is 8 years of lost time and a lot of damage to repair.
