Don't read too much into it though. It's just a gangster movie that was edited in the wrong order by mistake
Anyone remember From Dusk Till Dawn? Really good opening 45 minutes, which play out like a psychological thriller, with a pair of thieves, A scoundrelly, but ultimately good hearted, bank robber played by George Clooney, and his psychotic, murdrering, serial rapist brother, played by Quentin Tarantino, kidnap Harvey Keital and his teenage son and daughter, in their RV to smuggle them across the US/Mexican border. The opening 10 minutes to that film are some of the most kick arse in any movie! But unfortunately, around 50 minutes in to the movie, when they get to Mexico, they stop at a bar for a drink and all of a sudden, the bar is full of flesh eating Vampires and the film takes a quite ridiculous turn. Don't get me wrong, I like a good Vampire movie, but this switch in genres halfway through the movie came out of nowhere and ruined what could have been an excellent movie. Weird move by Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez
Sensible people do not waste their time watching films Sensible people are too busy enjoying their lives I have only ever watched pornographic movies and I have never got to the end of one
Yet he chooses the path of redemption, and walks away unscathed. Vince chooses the other path, and dies. So who is mental?
It depends on how well done it is. If you don't expect it, but there are subtle hints throughout, then it can be worth watching back to catch them properly. Films where it's an obvious suspect or someone that you'd just never get in a million years, then I agree with you.
All this sounds like the kinda of pseudo intellectual bullshit that hyper geeks with too much time on their hands come up with when they're set loose on the internet. I have seen many interviews with Tarantino, and he has never even implied any of this ****. It seems like the over active imaginations of a bunch of helmets.
So you see it as just a gangster movie that was pieced together in the wrong order? It wasn't intended to be thought provoking?
Tarantino's one of them, though. He's very much a movie geek. His films are set in two connected universes, one real and one that's the film universe for the real one. Characters from Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs go to watch Kill Bill and From Dusk Til Dawn at the cinema.
Watch it stoned...fantastic **** knows what Archie was on...probably DMT...considering he thinks there was a soul in the suitcase
