That's funny because I remember reading the same stories about our bad owners eroding the squad that everybody knows is happening at Utd. Everybody except those in green and yellow, that is.
And that, my friend, is the difference between Utd and the rest. Utd succeed in spite of their owners, everyone else can only succeed because of them. For more information, see Chelsea FC.
I wouldn't be so arrogant.Manchester United when going head to head with Liverpool for the title have only come out on top....once, on every other occasion it was Liverpool. 1946.Liverpool. 1964.Liverpool. 1980.Liverpool. 1982.Liverpool. 1988.Liverpool. 2009.Man United. Thats Liverpool 5-1 in head to heads.
That's one way to look at it. The other way is that when Liverpool were the best in England, United were good enough to challenge them for the title on five separate occassions. When United were the best in England...Liverpool were a bit **** really... And yet another way to look at it is what whilst we both have 18 league titles, United have finished runners up in the top division 14 times to Liverpool's 12. Giving us a superior league record
Liverpool are the superior club having consecutively being in the top flight since 1962.Man United 1975. Liverpool one of two English clubs to be back to back European Champions.1977 and 1978.Man United have never done this. Liverpool the only club to ever beat Real Madrid in a EC final...and 9 other teams have tried. Liverpool the only English side to win European trophies 3 seasons running...1976,1977 and 1978. Bob Paisleys 3 European Cups with Liverpool were won from 1974-1983. Ferguson has won 2 in 24 years.Bob Paisley won the same amount of European Cups as Man United.
That's the messageboard equivalent of, "Well, if you're going to shout I'm not going to discuss it anymore." You're not going to flounce off, are you?
Actually I went to bed Was only staying up to catch the end of the Arsenal - Barca match. I just find it interesting that KPR feels the need to bring up all these random obscure stats. Like Dalglish said, when considering who has the better history, all you need to say is 5 European Cups. I didn't expect a bit of gentle wuming, based on second placed finishes, to produce such a response! You can come up with equally random stats for United: First English club to ever win the EC Only club to ever keep a clean sheet vs Barca in a two legged CL tie 33 major domestic trophies vs Liverpool's 32. Only English club to ever win the true Treble Only English club ever to reach consecutive Champion's League finals Highest number of consecutive Champion's League appearances of any club Only English club to win all their European cups in periods when English clubs weren't dominant in Europe And that's just off the top of my head. Every club has a bunch of these random claims, I'm just surprised that he chose to lead with them.
And who has to come to town for Moo to play well as ye haven't dont it all season ALso, ask Chelsea if we only play well against Moo
