Who is that admiring Tony Currie from afar in what looks like black (underwear) trunks? Looks like a very young Chris Waddle to me in the days when men were men and shorts were shorts not baggy trousers cut off at the knee.
The one above is Bradley Orr, an unremarkable player. This one's Gary Bannister, a very good player and famous for getting two hat-tricks against Chelsea.
You threw me for a moment until I checked the date of your post and saw it was on the Friday before the miracle at Ashton Gate - that proved it for me because I didn't remember Bradley Orr ever playing for Wycombe. As for Gary Bannister, wish we had him this season - a genuine goal scorer. Now you are going to tell me I'm wrong. Fab duo upfront in the Jim Smith season with him and Budgie Byrne in the No 10 shirt. Weren't we clear at the top for a brief period until Liverpool cut us down to size at Anfield in the second half?
We do seem to get more than our fair share it seems don't we? I remember being so excited when we signed Sheron.......... And then after watching him, being so disappointed.
To be fair Wegerle, Bannister, Byrne, Stainrod, Buzsaky ... were all good players up front for us. It’s so much more fun remembering the good ‘uns
He really was quality. Such a pleasure to watch: If I'm remembering correctly, another one held back by injury.
Thank goodness for this thread still being up near the top of the list. From a slightly earlier era....
Ahhh Peter Eastoe........he was a good player, natural goalscorer. Didn't he replace Don Givens in the side that was eventually relegated in 79?
