The Conservatives need a new leader. It won't be Johnson because he is negotiating a TV deal for a 10 part series on "Whiskies of the World." Allegedly!!! If I was a serious Conservative I would want Sarkozy to hammer the Brexit nonsense out of the Tory heads and to take the Conservatives back into the mainstream of European politics. That is what the Conservative Party needs, that is what the country needs. In reality it is likely to be Ruth Davidson when she has found a safe seat.

PS: Who would have thought the DUP would be wagging the body of the dog?

Single market and a Norway deal. Ten years on, referendum to rejoin.

I wasn't going to bother voting a month ago. My daughter has absolutely badgered me, even through my recent ops and health issues, to get back on my feet to vote. Her and my neice, who's a Lancaster doing maths just never stopped, certainly on social media and SU meetings, getting their contemporaries to register and vote. She even nagged her boyfriend to register and go to the polls even to draw a cock on the ballot paper - when he got there he found it easier just to vote Labour, when he thought of his access and plumbing courses, his mum losing her disability PIP, and so forth.

I am really humbled. Don't get me wrong, we haven't won this vote, and I hope the young don't despair. But here's to 16 year olds voting and a new future - they had Brexit 'stole' from them, but I pray this is no false dawn and our youth have learned their strength.

And Curtice - **** me, that feller knows his stuff.

<ok>

good stuff...

I'm fully confident that May delayed at every turn as long as she could possibly could and was happy at every court delay. She stretched it to end of march and grudgingly triggered. She's picked fights and.... well my missus says she has thrown the election with that manifesto and not going to debates deliberately.

Bit of a stretch i think but a remainer just got a soft brexit so..... Mrs May might have got what she really wanted. I don't know its sounds crazy.

You are right though everything that has occurred has been about the tory party not the good of the uk and frankly the lies told about brexit mean I have to wonder if the youth who did for may turned out again for a second referendum what would occur.

For me that answer is not clear cut either way.
You're right ....that is crazy

May was nothing more than a stooge for the far right, the Tory kingmakers ensured that she ended up being the only candidate lol.

They've been pulling her strings ever since, 'no deal is better than a bad deal' and all that bollocks. Make no mistake this is an absolute disaster for the ****s, and it's made my ****ing day :)

Must admit to being very pleasantly surprised <laugh>

So after May stating if Tories lose 6 seats she will resign and hand over to Corbyn that doesn't happen.

conservatives state no coalition would happen with them. It's now happened with one party willing to do so.

How can May still stay in power after the lies?

I'm pleased with the election.

No Corbyn government (I think he would be a disaster) but no May majority either. Honestly, I think a hung Parliament is best thing that could realiatically happen. The biggest idiots on each party won't be able to get things done. Only things that are good for everyone will get passed.

Hopefully May is replaced with a moderate to help steer the government. If Boris gets in charge it will be a nightmare.

Hopefully when the next election roles around both main parties (or at least one of them) has a stronger candidate.

The biggest advantage here is she can't go full hard Brexit. She's going to have to deal with Europe to keep the fringes and enough of the other parties happy.

No suicide via hard Brexit or Corbyn. A good result.

It's genius. If enough people do this at the next election, whether that's this year or in 5 years, we might actually get a non-tory government by dragging the votes away from the twats. THIS IS THE NEW POLITICS PEOPLE !!
