I know it's not going to happen, but it would be the highlight of the week for me

EDIT. What would happen then? We would have to sack him
I think his position is untenable but IF he signed a long term deal with no release clauses then I think his good work over the last 6 months and the goodwill from Wembley might be enough to get him a 2nd chance with the fans.

Not going to happen like

lets see if we announce Mowbray today
Moving from Sunderland to Stoke makes no ****ing football sense at all. They are going nowhere, we are at least upwardly mobile with crowds twice the size of theirs. Proof, unfortunately that money talks

  • Potters delighted to secure the services of Alex Neil
  • 41-year-old Scot has signed an three-year contract
  • New manager was in the stands at Blackburn

If he was offered more money you would probably see him on the ice cream van on the way into the ground, the slimy c unt.

Left with a nasty taste in the mouth, but i will always be grateful he got us out of that horrible league 1 ****housery.

So roll on wednesday onwards and upwards ktf.

So to summise the situation.

4 weeks ago he signed a new improved contract
Friday Stoke ask for permission to talk to him (no way they would ask without encouragement from him / his agent)
Friday afternoon he ****s off
Saturday he watches them while he should have been managing us
Sunday it's officially announced.

Yet there are posts on here saying it's the clubs fault for not delivering what they promised him?

If it upset him that much that in 4 weeks we didn't deliver these magical promises why didn't he resign?

If we ever find out how much more Stoke are paying him, then we'll know the going rate for a Scottish soul. At least the Barcodes sold their soul for boat loads of dirty Saudi money. I hope AN can look in the mirror and convince himself the money was compensation enough for a binned reputation.

That's the interesting bit I guess. A bump in his 12 month rolling but not the longer deal he wanted and felt valued for. Guess stoke feel he is value for the 3 year, out club didn't..

But aye gone now so move on.

Because he’s a sly twàt. If he came out out and said they offered massive money and he couldn’t turn it down I’d have some respect for being truthful. But the Arsehole still should’ve waited till today.

I thought Speakman chose his words carefully when he said the "contract was signed 4 weeks ago" rather than "Alex Neil signed the contract 4 weeks ago" which made me wonder was it signed by Speakman and they were waiting for Neil to sign it? Every contract I've ever had has 2 signatures on it - the person representing the employer and the employee - without both it's not binding
Doesn't sound like that to, he signed a contract 4 weeks ago, and they offered him even more when he said he wanted to leave on friday
