Never rated him personally and glad he's gone. But he's got his fans so give him some love. A long servent.
We never really replaced him, did we? We ended up always having him in the team, its not his fault that his legs were going, while we failed to replace him.I know I should probably appreciate his efforts but my honest reaction to reading that he's going was a surge of relief.
He tried but he wasn't very good at the end of the day. Or at 3pm on a Saturday.

No but all the times he got caught ball watching and numerous other basic mistakes were.
No excuse for switching off. He spent most of his time on another planet.
Switching off, giving away needless free kicks, you name a rookie mistake and he's still making them. No upper body strength either.
Plus he'll get out jumped by the smallest man on the pitch.
Yeah no lower body strength either haha.
I don't want to be too harsh on him because he did try. I think to an extent I've never forgiven him for his (strongly alleged if not known fact) role in getting Di Canio sacked. I've no great love for Paolo but you can't have players doing that.

Because we never replaced him. We carried on using him, that's the point. No but all the times he got caught ball watching and numerous other basic mistakes were.
Agreed only I liked Paolo. Having players going on like that he never had a chance. he wasn't in charge for 20 games. Rude awakening and Big John spat his dummy. No doubt with the likes of Wickham, Catts and Fletcher egging him on. Was ashamed of our club then yet most of our fanbase seemed just fine with it the dodgy ****s.![]()

In all honestly my recollection of the time was that most of the fanbase were annoyed at the players for going behind Paolos back rather than fine with it.
That was tempered by most people thinking Paolo was a nutter and being glad he was gone.
That is a remarkable enough stat that I had to go and check to make sure it wasn't a mistake.
He left Man Utd in 2011 (and we hadn't beaten them for 5-6 seasons) and we promptly comfortably beat them 3-0 the following season.
He went to you guys and made his professional debut on 27th August. We beat you 1-0 the previous weekend and I think it may well have been the last time we won against you guys.
I never knew he was our hoodoo! Hope we don't get Reading in the cup now!

Did I, no forget it.Yeah no lower body strength either haha.
