They way I see it that the goals will be more widespread throughout the team. Which to me is a good thing.

We dont know how good he is yet so you cant say he is not a natural goal scorer until he has had a number of continuous games under his belt. Im looking forward to see how he reacts now he is the main striker and think just by his couple of games he has played will come good..

Look at his record he is 29 and he has never been a big scorer wherever he has been. So I think we have a bit of a clue. Although his record at other clubs has been better than here, so he is probably due a few. He is at about 1 in 3 games and that was with a Lyon side regularly winning the league. Saying that his best is 22 in a season I will be happy with 8 or so till the end of the season.

About the same as Danny Graham - OK if the goals are shared or someone starts increasing the number they score.
But if we don't have a goal threat other clubs will attack us more knowing we are unlikely to score.
IMO we need to get Nathan & Routledge back to form and give Emnes and Carroll more game time.

A striker is only as good as his team mates make him, I think we have good players none that are superstars but are a unit and if gomis can gel into a good understanding with the main deliverers to him then he can get a few goals. we will need others to chip in with a few also and we will be fine.. Our main goal scorers are Gomis to bag the most with sigs, dyer, shelvey, routs and monty to get a few between them...hope so anyway...Ki to join in when he returns...

Another reason Id like to sell Gomis is , I dont like him . Goals dont stop when a top player leaves or, and in most cases, goals dont increase when a top scorer comes in imo . When Siggy came to us the first time he started scoring like crazy.Graham was scoring like crazy till Siggy got here but dried up after Siggy got here.PS...If Gomis wants to dabble with his release clause , fill your boots...if not , shutup in the media and prepare to prove your worth 80 thousand a week ..

It's also about time our central defenders to score a few.

Still not sure about Gomis but, there's something about him that makes me want him to stay here and not go to Palace or Newcastle.

I don't see him going to Palace, the chance of relegation is too much for him at this stage in his career. Newcastle, I think, must be the 'big club' his agent is speaking to, because of the many French connections they have there.

I'm not sure about Gomis either, but if he wants CL football then he's not going to get it with Newcastle or Palace anytime in this career. I don't understand what his agent and he thinks they're up to. Like Roof, I'd be happy to see him go and the Anderlect kid come in - far more upside potential.

Agree Yankee, he isnt top 4 level imo. Will we get the boy from Anderlecht though and we will need some goals from our strikers in the second half of the season.

I wont write him off yet not until he has had a fair crack of being No1 striker.

Just my thoughts on this Gomis situation:

I think the words in the press regarding him wanting out are from his agent and not necessarily him.

From his agents point of view, he must be VERY frustrated regarding the lack of money he's earned from his French International striker and must be looking at this year and or next as being almost his last chance at manufacturing a big pay-day for himself through transfer %ages and bonuses.

I think the agent must see that he's earned relatively little thus far from Gomis as he hasn't generated any transfer income. Before he came here Gomis has only ever played for two clubs, St Etienne and, 30 or so miles down the road, bitter rivals Lyon. So Gomis is a bit of a home boy it would seem.

Just one move in 12 years then a free transfer to us, the agent must be spewing.

Imo Gomis agent must be on a mission, a mission to maximise the cash for his asset and to make up for lost £ms by touting him around the prem. Gomis has not many years left playing the game, he and his agent know this so, as far as their concerned, now is the time to make as much as they can.

Gomis may well still be here post Jan but, imo, there's no way his agent will let him settle and see his contract out with us, he's just got too much at stake to let that happen.

I'd like to see him stay and let him have his chance but he wont be a Swansea player for long imo, he's too far down the line career wise and the priority for his agent now will be to put him in the shop window and max the cash.

Why I concur with Roof re Gomis, not Bony, if we can get £7m - £9m for him now we should take it, invest it elsewhere and buy some longevity/stability up front instead of wasting time and money on a player/agent who see us as just a ride to the party.

Just don't know TLF, but we are putting a lot of faith in Gomis, who hasn't performed as he should imo. I think, although I've bagged Emnes for being selfish, both him and Barrow could do no worse.

Don't now anything about Vydra TLF, we chasing him?

Chelsea may be hijacking City's deal; I don't think it was ever as far gone as the press pretended it was, they got anyone who could come the other way?

Gomis won't get Champions' League Football with EPL club - he's not good enough. He'd have to move to one of the teams from countries that are usually make weights and then his wages would drop.

The only problem for Gomis's agent after he finds someone to Stump up the transfer fee Stumpy , is getting that someone to agree to pay 80 thousand a week for Gomis cause Gomis wont want to take a wage cut .We could very well be stuck with him whether we want him or not .Thus are the trails and tribulation of "Free Transfers"

I think quotes including 'play for a champion league team' are used to grab headlines and get his name out there.

Your right though Bob, he's doesn't seem to be good enough for the CL; from what I've seen anyway, but as much as I'd take the money for him now, there is still something nagging me about him which is, he looks like he could be really good.

I know that looks can be deceptive so I'll stick with taking the cash while hoping he turns out to be crap <laugh> Only if he does leave though
