Fair play to Monk there, handled the press well with what he's saying there, hopefully behind closed doors he handled Gomis well too....we'll see soon enough.

 

Possibly, but we've had the 'We've said what we've said', and 'It is as it is', and 'We are moving on'. quotes from Monk before with Shelvey and that didn't exactly turn out well. Just words that seem to follow when Monk is trying to look like he knows what he's doing.
I just don't like or trust the guy and think he's full of the proverbial; just looked at who he admired, Rogers and Roberto! Whereas, he couldn't cope with open and honest Sousa and Laudrup.
I'll congratulate him on his successes and moan about his failures but no way will I ever like or rust him - not like he cares

Despite the good reception from the fans at the Chelsea game. His performances haven't warranted it. He shows absolutely no effort or a wanting to be at our club. He is an absolute disgrace and I will support him no more and want rid of him.

 

Stuck with Gomis. Stuck with Michu. We need to do background checks on players attitude from now on, we have signed so many prima donnas in the last three seasons that it has made us a laughing stock. Between Michu, Chico, Vasquez and now this guy we have struggled to make any sort of money from resale simply because no club is willing to put up with their pathetic antics.

 

Credit to Monk. He's handled that interview really well.

 

The issue we have is that everyone will see his behaviour and less likely to want to take the Clown from us.

 

How are they prima donnas?
Michu was frustrated with injury, unhappy with the way Laudrup was treated and disgusted that he was replaced a trouble maker. So, his attitude was questionable in to his second season - but largely because his own body was letting him down. People forget he was a midfield player thrown into attack and that he scored 6 goals from 24 appearances in half a second season compared to Gylfi's 4 from 21 this season. The goals he scored to keep us in the Premier League, and a good place at that, more than paid back his initial £2,000,000 fee. Napoli suspicious of his injury history which caused them not to pay up front. They were correct and prudent.
Chico loved Swansea and was kicked out for a £2,000,000 profit by a jealous manager - not his fault his replacement cost £8,000,000
Vasquez was a loan player to cover a heavy schedule - sensible even if he wasn't a success & was not given a full contract.
Neither Chico nor Vasquez had attitude problems.

Gomis - may have a good reason to moan (we don't know) but he shouldn't have done so publicly.
He should have followed the example of his manager who never complains publicly or points a finger at individual players in press conferences!

Saint-Etienne have no plans to sell Swansea target Franck Tabanou.

The Swans are on the hunt for reinforcements during the January transfer window afterrecouping £28m from the sale of Wilfried Bony to Manchester City.

Tabanou is reportedly high on the list of Garry Monk's transfer targets with the Swansea boss impressed by the attacking midfielder's performances in Ligue 1.

The 25-year-old's agent, Philippe Lamboley, admitted this week that talks were taking place, saying: "The two clubs are in discussions, but I cannot confirm a bid has been made."

However, Saint-Etienne president Bernard Caiazzo has now hit back over claims a deal will be struck, arguing the club have no plans to part with the former France under-21 international.

"Tabanou will not leave this winter. Even if we receive a good offer, he will stay at the club for sure," Caiazzo told Eurosport.
