I really dont understand this situation and agree with bap666. To be honest i have never heard of such a stupid deal in my life before, It dont make any sense whatsoever. Whoever made that deal deserves all what he gets but the one who accepted the deal need shooting.

To sum up our transfer situation to date:-

We took an opportunistic punt on Fabianski and it has worked wonders but business undertaken in such a way that Vorm, who would have been out second choice ‘keeper, immediately asks for a transfer.

In order to lose Vorm to Spurs Levy screws us out of only quality left back and in return we get Siggy. Mixed blessing. As pleased as I am to have him back does having Siggurdson minus Davies (who Monk has said was moved on in order for the transfer to go ahead) and deGuzman (who had expected to stay on a permanent deal) = a positive. In the mean time our only left back who has been linked to other cubs almost since his arrival is on the brink of a move.

Montero has been like a little stick of dynamite when he’s come on as a sub but the games he has started he’s fizzled out and he got a nasty injury.

Federico is still imo no better than Chico and at £4 mn more + additional wages.

Barrow is fast in a straight line which has great potential but is no better at beating a defence than Dyer and no better at crossing than Routledge.

We have sold Bony, probably half a season later than the club expected, but have made a decent profit. However, his replacement has obviously not been kept happy and is making sounds to move (can’t see it happening myself).

So now, in addition to the long term replacement for Rangel, which seems to be a £5 mn fifth choice Spurs player, and Leon (wanted for nearly two seasons) we need

    another, possibly two, strikers

    a left back, possibly two

And back up if Ki, Siggy, Leon or either wing is absent.

    Am I being unreasonable?

No i would say we need those players bob but i would not get them now and wait until the summer when there will be more choice available then. We have got enough points to make it over the line fairly comfortable and we dont need to panic buy for the sake of it...

No Bob you are not. Not sure we have many guys on the board with proper big multi-million £ business heads on and I've felt that for a long time.

It's clear as daylight that Gomis is nothing more than a mercenary, who simply wants to cash in his agreed £8 Million signing on fee, and there is only two answers to this conundrum, one we sell him for the best profitable price to pay his signing on fee, or we keep him for as long as we like, in the hope that he will break his contract and we are released from this ridiculous fee. I would love us to put him back on the bench and bring someone better in...<cheers>

Mind is there a third option, send him out on loan?

I can't argue with any of that Phil, coupled with his total lack of effort on the weekend. Do we though really want a sulkt child who can't get his own way anywhere near our team. yet alone the squad.

We still have time to change that. I would rather have someone who maybe not quite as good giving everything to the team than someone who has no interest or heart to play for us.

I see Eto is on his way to sampdoria, maybe we have moved along with our interest in Okaka.

Well then the answer is the same as Michu, send him out on loan to whoever will take him, and they can pay his wages...............<ok>

Yes we do , but that will mean spending money from Bony's sale , something I don't think the board were considering in January

There you go. That way we have no lump sum due and maybe he'll cool his heals while there. The only problem is him agreeing to it.

If Michu is fit he needs to back here and playing.
And, until he moves so does Bafe ... I'm sure failure to do so would be breach of contract.

I think we need to avoide suggesting Michu. His ankle seems shot and hasn't scored a goal for the best part of twelve months.

Agree. But sadly, I think we've seen the best of Michu because of his injuries.

Even if he went out on loan it is only his salary (£55k per week) that will be covered. The signing on fee, although spread over 4yrs, would still be paid by us. The fact that an agreement was to pay it on a lay-away deal doesn't mean it would transfer to the club that has him on loan!!

As for hoping he would break his contract I doubt that would affect this fee as it is still a signing on fee which if paid in full at the time of signing on would not be refundable in this scenario surely!!
