I've just received an email from Golf England (the governing body for golf courses) informing me that my course remains open...for now. Who the **** are they (or the government) to ban someone from doing something they've already paid for? We've had one positive test at our club, weeks ago.
Parklands Golf Course, Gosforth, £15 with a member. What a great way to spend a pleasant autumnal afternoon caressing the ball around for a 2 over par 73. First time I've played here, has anyone else?
T Gonna be a bit weird without fans there but not as bad as a Ryder Cup without fans so should still be watchable...quite looking forward to it.
I wonder if there will be fake crowd noise like in football? Maybe the odd "Get in the hole!" By the way, I've only heard that being shouted in a Yank accent.
Having never played the game in anger, it would seem I have aquired three sets of golf clubs over the years, (including a wooden shafted set for left handers!) I also find at least 20 or so golf balls a year around my farm, odd considering I live at 3 miles from the nearest golf course. I reckon covids or foxes find them and think: "Ooh an egg!" then after a while of dropping and chewing think: "Not an egg...feck it!"
