It's far from word play Chazz, it's the nub of the issue, as bum chin rightly points out.

All just my opinion but..I doubt more would join, it would need club approval and would have minimal impact.

Black arm bands dished out with the message on would be an idea.

I have posted several times that the only way forward is to adopt a different approach.

The way forward is to stop acting like football supporters. In order to be listened to you have to have something to offer
Assem Allams words are that he is the business man and we are simply fans who know nothing about business.

We have to produce real tangible evidence that the name change will be a costly and fruitless excercise. Just on this forum there are posters who have experience in marketing, law and finance.
The only way that we can move forward is to put together a fans shareholding and the key is OUR ownership of the KC. Start there and we will have something to bargain with.

Think of me what you want, but heed my words, stop trying to compete, start to engage. A shareholding is possible and is viable. The council may object to the KC going to the Allams but has anyone asked if they would object to the fans buying it?

Sorry about hacking your quote. That's my sausage fingers. <doh>

I don't disagree with your view that an alternative approach would be better, but I feel there's a place for protests too. As for buying the KC, I think the question was answered without being asked during the Geraghty cock up, but if the right group got together, it'd still be worth asking again, but I'd suggest it'd have to include representatives of FC too.

I don't like the name change at all or the way Allam disregards the supporters but I don't want to have a mad scramble to get into the match and miss most of the first half because I was "protesting". I doubt it would have any impact on Allam. There are two things he wants, money and being seen as "the big I am". He wants people to be fawning over him and saying what a great man he is and how wonderful he is so why not just have a crowd of people but try and get an interview with the media that will be shown on TV. On the money front I will not buy any merchandise but if someone produced a sweat shirt, maybe black with amber lettering with just plain Hull City on the front and No to The Tigers on the back then I would buy one and if lots of people bought them instead of stuff from the shop that would be a protest.

I suppose we could stay on the concourse until after the whistle blows. This would avoid the delay at the turnstiles, but still make a huge point on the TV. Sky and MOTD would love it, and it wouldn't take long to get to our seats. Alternatively, we could go to our seats, but turn our backs for the first minute of the game.

There are lots of ways to make a point whilst still supporting the team. The difficulty is getting the message out to all those who don't use sites like this. <confused>

I think the late to seats thing will be very hard to get everyone involved in, people will be too worried about missing something.

I think turning backs on the West Stand, from all sides of the ground(except the West obviously), would make a far bigger statement to Assem and would be easier to implement.

I can't wait to see this protest tomorrow, and the reaction on here when match of the dayns doesn't even mention it. There was a right load of to do including a minuscule away support and a huge banner with the Huddersfield debacle and the most mention it got was about 5 short words at half time. And that was a live broadcast with 2 hours chance for it to be talked about, so why would a highlight reel squeeze it into a 5 minute overview.

It's a pointless protest anyway, the name change is that ludicrous the whole nation knows about it already, so exposure will achieve bugger all. Being 5 minutes late to arrive at seats you already paid for is not going to do anything but make Allam laugh and think you're an idiot.

Not that I don't think any stance should be took, but this is just doing something for the sake of doing something with no real goal or achievement other than at best a couple of words in the HDM and on Blunderside. If we're truly going to do something that will make Dr. Allam stop and think I think we'll have to make a sacrifice ourselves and return season passes and just not go until he changes his mind. Which I would not be taking part of by the way, I'm not that against the name change to stop going altogether, but some seem to be and I suggest they rally round and take their stance before its too late. Once the name change is in place, at best, it will be years before we could even think of returning to Hull City AFC, and that would be hoping that the rebrand doesn't make a smidgin of difference to our marketing power globally.

The West Stand should all turn to face the Lack-of-Direction Box and big foam hands pointing the fickle-finger-of-fate would be a great move. This should be staged at a big gate occasion after some proper preparation and continued through to the new year. Non-cooperation from fans support groups - suspension of normal meetings, etc. are essential in expressing the disapproval of his current customers, the very people he should be working very hard to retain. He has made it a point of business strategy, so show the silly old fool that we understand our position - Gerald Ratner found out the hard way.

He wont lose face by giving in to protests ...Just like in Eygpt see how they react to protests. Also there was more outcry when Barmby got sacked then there is with the name change so far and look what his reaction was to that... You need to give him something in return for not changing the name so he wont lose face and backing down.

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/71918-The-City-Ulltras-are-here!

This is a previous City Ulltras thread. An early one. Anyone care to explain how this "bunch of good lads" turned from a group devoted to improving the atmosphere at the KC, into what looked very much like a load of anti capitalist rabble, marching to the ground(all 150 of them) claiming that they are the ones who pay the bills.

    Just wondering like.

They're trying to improve the support at the KC because they're City fans.

They're marching against the name change, as they're City fans.

What part of that is hard to understand?

There was a thread on how this happened recently. Depending on your school of thought it's either:

    1. Evolution; or
    2. Aliens visited Earth and changed their DNA.

    Or something like that anyway

The protests are trying to get the club to at least consult the fans.

Unfortunately, the Allam's are too stubborn to see they need the fans on his side.
