Wilshere is indeed a good dribbler but he often starts quite deep. He's not an attacking midfielder he's more of a all rounder (almost a box to box mid) he tracks back, makes tackles and naturally lies quite deep.

Goetze is more attacking. His natural position is further up the pitch and he will make alot more runs into the box.

Yes its true we do need someone to replace cesc and nasri, arteta plays far to deep and to be honest i think that he is signing was a stop gap to give wenger time in all honesty. Ramsey has been really good this season but again he isn't an attacking midfielder, he prefers to play right in the middle not in the whole behind the striker and i think that if wenger was to sign gotze then ramsey and arteta will have to make way, especially as wilshere will be back by the end of january. To be honest £25m is not too bad considering the price that players go for nowadays. Especially when you look at how much money liverpool wasted on carroll and henderson and its looks like lille are wanting around £40m for hazard. I know that we could use it to strengthen the team but we have just sold our two best players who made the team tick and who were both attacking midfielders so we need to replace quality with quality. I don't think we can go though this window though without bringing in a couple of players.

Numbers wise, Wenger strengthened in every position he said he would, but I think it's clear that some of those signings are not long term solutions - especially with Arteta and Benayoun. I still think they were really good acquisitions given the transfer landscape - but I think Wenger knew it was short term when he signed them.

You're seriously questioning us signing a genuinely world class player? Give me a break.

Goetze would add real quality to our team.
But I disagree with the Xavi comparision, he's more the Iniesta-type of player.

You can play him anywhere across attacking midfield just like Iniesta (or Nasri).

    ------Song------Wilshere----
    ----------Goetze------------
    ---Theo---RvP---Gervinho---

    ^ That would be amazing.

Very, very unlikely though that Dortmund will let him go in the winter.

But if Theo somehow stalls to sign a new contract (he will be in the 'Nasri/RvP- situation' in the summer as well) we should desperately try to sign Goetze.

    PS:
Have seen quite a few youth internationals and tournaments involving Goetze und Wilshere and I have to admit that Goetze outshone Jack everytime I saw them play.

If Arsenal don't buy him - I think someone else will.

Goetze isnt the Xavi type at all.He is more attacking minded as you have rightly said, which means is further up the pitch most of the game albeit his exceptional paasing ability.

Xavi plays as what i call a Qaurter back or the distributor of the team.. Every ball passes through him but not with Goetze.

If we end up buying Goetze and all Players are fit, he will be playing right behind RVP with SOng and Wilshere behind him.

    Thats how i see it.

Well Dortmund are out, you may have a better chance of getting him in Jan.
