That is a side of religion I don't buy into. For example I believe in God but I don't believe he created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th. I also have always loved science and how it never stops trying to find answers because these are the people who make the breakthroughs that ultimately help humanity (and some that cause destruction but that's down to the people rather than the science itself)

There is actually two types of Islam. One is the fundamentalist type that does preach what has been listed and the other is more moderate which is what the majority of Muslims practice in peace.
