If i was the yankee owners i would force the trust shares back into the hands of proper share holders who can make changes. The trust is meaningless now with no power at all. sell them to another investor with money they want to put into the club and not let a bunch of fans who cant do anything.......they have served their purpose and now is the time to abolish the trust.......hopefully further down the line the yanks will do this. we need proper investors....

Good news that the share purchase is 60%, it means they cannot invoke 'exceptional' changes without the consent of the other board members, and that is a very good move...........

 

They need 75.1% to achieve full control you muppet, purchasing 60% makes them the main shareholder, who will still have to have things agreed by the existing remaing board members............

 

Bit of anger there valley........you need to see a doctor quick because the takeover is almost done .........And there is nothing you or anyone can do about it. im very happy with the take over

 

They will get 75% and when they do i hope they get rid of the trust altogether as its not needed and a waste of shares that can be purchased by someone that can make a difference.....

 

Can't see them taking the deal at 60 % but I'm ok with it as long as full control isn't achieved . Actually , in this dynamic I think it will work better as Jenkin's must answer for his actions now and Morgan will be totally gone .

Dai, if you believe that then you are truly a COMPLETE AND UTTER DICK, of the highest (new)order. I can't believe that you do, especially after the lecture you gave us yesterday on 'all you've done for the club' and how it is people like you that saved it.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, it's blatantly obvious to anyone with an iota of intelligence, that it is the Trusts direct intervention into the stealth negotiations which have forced the Yanks away from their original 75% ownership requirement. 75% ownership is a monopoly ownership forgoing all the legal protections and financial checks and balances offered under Ltd share ownership. This happened at Man Utd and Liverpool, both now languishing mid table after all the glories of their past. They only remain in mid table because they are both massive clubs and generate huge incomes form international merchandise sales which props them up. We don't have that kind of income so what hope have we?

60% ownership, suggested by the TRUST and now a requirement of the yanks, means that there are still checks and balances and the clubs future is the thing which remains at the heart of the boardroom. The yanks have to prove what they want is of benefit to the club and they can't simply strip assets and money away from the club as they could with 75% ownership.

It was the TRUST who have done this, they seem pretty useful, vibrant and effective to me.
